Prominent Islamic scholar, Sheik Ahmad Gumi has alleged that the military does not want terrorism to end in the country because of personal benefits they get from it.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Gumi claimed that some top military officials want the issue of insecurity in the country to persist because of the huge funds they get for trying to salvage the situation.

Gumi says the bandits will drop their guns if the federal government grants their request.


“The military are the beneficiaries of this insecurity that breeds in the country.

“I can tell you for sure that the bandits are ready to drop their arms if the federal government will grant their demands such as building schools, hospitals and providing water.

“Their complaints are mostly against the military killing innocent people and there is an allegation that the military does not want this chaos to end because of the billions they get from claiming to fight insurgency,” he said.


Gumi, however, commended the police and the Inspector-general of Police for assisting during their visit to meet the bandits.
