Do you agree that that IPOB that had no guns, nor killed anyone, as at September 2017 when it was declared a terrorist group, should have been proscribed? But the armed killer herdsmen who have been killing hundreds if not thousands of Nigerians every year, should not be proscribed?

AIT: What is happening with the armed bandits and their activities in the North West that is threatening the national security of Nigeria? Does it not qualify for these people to be declared terrorists and proscribed? You might say we dont know them by name but the state Governors are engaging them on a daily basis, granting them amnesty and taking pictures with them

Lai Mohammed: When a group is championing the disintegration of Nigeria, a group like IPOB that does not even recognise Nigeria as a state, sets up its own Army. This is different from bandits and criminals. Dont compare apples and oranges

AIT: But are the armed bandits not threatening the sovereignty of Nigeria by taking up arms against the citizens of Nigeria?

Lai Mohammed: The security challenges is one thing, challenging the sovereignty of Nigeria is a completely different thing. Lets not dwell on semantics. Armed robbers threaten the security of Nigerians, have you ever heard that armed robbers were proscribed anywhere in the world?

There's no sense in what he said. To challenge the sovereignty of any country through non violent means is recognised in international law, it is called "self determination"

Proscribing a group as terrorists is all about the group using violence on the citizens of the country, something you hardly hear IPOB doing. Something you hear herdsmen doing all the time

Would you blame anyone challenging the sovereignity of this country in the manner IPOB is doing? The country no dey work, if we are to tell ourselves the truth. We can't continue like this, no jobs, no economy, nothing, imagine what life will be like for our kids and those unborn 20 years from now??

These politicians are more interested with securing the bag(Nigeria) than the actual Nigeria( the lives and properties of Nigerians). As far as the entity Nigeria is together, and more funds are generated for them, the country can go in flames for all they care.
