I passed through the Jibia/Magana border without any problem last Saturday. Though Nigerien officials refused to stamp my travelling document claiming that the border is closed.

Nigerian immigration service are back to work fully at the border, not sure of custom though.

According to u:

"Our President decided that we should just close our poverty stricken borders to the outside world so that we can manage on our own."

So what is d benefit of d closure to d nigerian economy? What is "our own" that was managed by our president?

U also made another interesting comment:

"All we need is a plan and a willing leader."

So do u mean that buhari isn't a "willing leader" and that he closed d borders without a plan?

It's also funny that u are mocking d smaller African countries that thrive on doing business with Nigeria. Business is about demand & supply. We have d demand, they have d supply. On d long value chain from those countries to d final consumers in Nigeria, are several Nigerians who eke out a living who buharis border closure couldn't provide a source of income for

Smuggling is better than kidnapping. To travel to go someone's wedding now na wahala. This government is yet to realize that we are back in the slave trade era because none of them is kidnapped on the highway for ransom

The word “Fantastically” used by the UK Prime Minister to describe the level of our corruption was intentional.

Forget faux patriotism and all; we are actually a fantastically, fantabulously, incredibly corrupt nation!

It's called international trade. Nobody makes progress by thinking like this. If you create artificial scarcity and kill people's businesses, at least be honest and decent enough to live in scarcity yourself.

Not this one where the resources that keep the nation afloat are from the southern part of the country and the same southern borders were CLAMPED shut until Nigeria was literally forced to reopen the borders or be in contravention of the African union free trade agreement.

The level of bitterness and ill will buhari has demonstrated towards Nigerians is alarming. That he and the fulani leadership, both political, religious and traditional can fold their hands and watch other tribes hacked and shot to death while in a forced disarmament, doesn't show they are gods.

It gives us prayer points, and they will become our testimony 2021.
Re: Smuggling Becomes Booming Business In Katsina State As Land Borders Remain Shut by vioment: 8:23am On Feb 13, 2021
We as a society are never exporting to Niger, we are importing and also importing the lawless fulanis from there and Chad.

We should exports goods too, and encourage all good people and tribes of Niger to come over for investment or to work.

I won’t call strolling or driving in and out of the borders smuggling. It’s a norm for them cos no security agent stops them.

Please stop littering nairaland with your illiteracy and valueless point.

In economy, it is the dream of every country that other nations visit their countries to do business. Dubai is investing more on their country to make it number one tourism center, Rwanda is sponsoring visit Rwanda so as to attract more investors while in stone age with their stone age politicians are closing their border.

Now niger republic and Chad depends heavily in Nigeria because they don't have direct access to sea. Now they have been forced to look for another alternative in Ghana and benin republic.

The implications of these is that traders, farmers and company being patronised by nigeriens is experiencing low sales and you know the implications it has on our economy?

This is the worst policy that government has made. Niger and Chad republic uses our seaport but now they use Ghana and benin, do I need to tell you the negative implications it has on our economy.

Before you type, think. That's what make one literate unless you have sold your conscience for money
