Nigerians have taken to social media to express their anger over the arrest of some suspected #occupylekkitollgate protesters who were picked up this morning at Lekki toll gate, IgbereTV reports.

The protesters were whisked away in police vans as the Lagos state police command and the federal government earlier warned that the protest will not hold.

Comedian, Mr. Macaroni was also arrested this morning at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Nigerians have condemned the arrest and have called for their release using different hashtags; #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, #EndPoliceBrutality, #EndSARS, and #Lekkitollgate.

Some commenters faulted the government for sitting down with Northern bandits to negotiate, but choose to arrest peaceful protesters at Lekki Toll Gate.

Earlier this week, the yorubas warned the Igbos not to Occupy their toll gate.

Today, 95% of the protesters arrested are yorubas.

Had things went sour down there today, they would have alledged the Igbos are the ones causing havoc in Lagos.

Lagos must be free one day!

Welcome to Nigeria!. Police officers who were supposed to be deployed to Oyo, Osun, Ondo etc, to go after fulani herdsmen who have been killing, raping, kidnapping and destroying people's farms, But no, they will happily go after peaceful protesters. Send them to sambisa forest now and see them crying foul. My question is; what are the offenses of the arrested peaceful protesters?.

I'm 100% sure you are an impostor

Stop making enemies for Igbo

Be wise, illiterates has taken over this platform

Beware Nigerians. This is the time to know and understand the true identity of those who cause tribalism on here, they are paid agents, they are neither from east or west, some are not Nigerian. They have more than twenty monikers, they would create tribal related topics and make tribal comments with different monikers to cause chaos between southerners. Though, they have no conscience but you can try to educate them or better ignore them. They are easy to identify, use your head brothers.
They dominate this platform. They are evil and restless until their aim is achieved
