Do you remember James Nwafor? He is the ex SARS leader who was accused of sponsoring multiple extrajudicial killings in Anambra state. He is a retired police officer who later headed the already disbanded Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS), a police unit accused of abusing human rights in Nigeria. James Nwafor was appointed the head of SARS in Awkuzu town located in Oyo local government area of Anambra State in 2012. He headed this unit until 2016 when he was transferred to Bauchi State.

During the 2020 EndSARS protest, the youths of Anambra State reported James Nwafor to many legal platforms saying that he has been the one masterminding the killings of innocent people of Anambra State in the state.

Following the report, governor Willie Obianno, the governor of Anambra State dissolved his appointment, and he was said to be appeared before the court for legal trials and justice. But for a long time now, many people are worried about his location and trials. According to premium times, it was reported that his was turned off some time ago.

Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu popularly known as Ebuka BB Naija, who is known for hosting Big Brother Naija has taken to twitter to ask the Nigerian police and the governor of Anambra State, governor Willie Obianno about the location of James Nwafor.

Nobody is protesting about the massacre in awkazu/oyigbo but they will carry anything that involves Lagos on their head like gala, here we have evidence unlike lekki and yet no one is protesting

The Anambra state judicial panel set up to look into the atrocities committed by SARS have not sat this year. Peter Obi used Akwuzu SARS then headed by James Nwafor to kill over 100 Massob members. Nobody out there is demanding for justice for the victims of Peter Obi’s brutality. When he was asked to appear before the panel last year, he refused.


Instead of occupying Lekki and causing problem in Lagos, sensible people who are truly interested in justice should have occupied Anambra government house and Akwuzu SARS office. But no, they are only interested in Lagos.
