Proverbs 15:27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
We all see how bribery is everywhere in every sectors in Nigerian society. From the police checkpoints to the Nigerian customs, paying bribes whether voluntary or forcefully is a normal way of life in Nigeria. If you do not pay to what those in authority demands, you might risk getting beaten up, locked up, harassment or even getting killed. With the END SARS protests against police brutality last year, bribery unfortunately still remains in Nigeria today. Education system is riddled with teachers taking exam for students and students who bribing their way to university.
This is an offense to the Almighty God because bribery, kickback and settling my oga at the top means cheating is normalized and accepted. When cheating is allowed, Justice comes out perverted and poverty is worsened. This is not to condemned anyone but to encourage that as Christians , we should no longer tolerate engage with bribery or kickbacks especially if you are in power or authority or you have the money, gifts or whatever to favour your way. You could be a school teacher, a Judge, policeman, principal, headmaster, student, footballer or someone in an important position, let say no to bribery starting from today.

Warning to Rich Oppressors
5 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. 2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days. 4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. 5 You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.[a] 6 You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you.
