This so many years down the lane, we still have "landing" cost. How do you have pepper, Maggi, tomatoes, meat, salt, oil to make a bomb as.s soup and yet you can't get kerosene/gas to cook the soup. A typical case of washing one's hand with spittle while by the river.
For this country to even smell growth, massive industrialization is paramount. We can't be importing pencil and sachet tomatoes at 2021 and be crying wolf of no jobs/growth.

Oil at $64 per barrel is far greater than Nigeria 2021 budget benchmark, how nice could it be if the excess can be felt on our National well being but instead it's only the adverse effects we are suffering.

the case of diversification, I don't blame the govt.
cos when the govt tried to, Nigeria couldn't bear the heat of such actions.
besides we still buy fuel at a cheaper price compared to other countries..

Nigerians should ask our leaders why our refineries are not working.
Why a major oil producing nation is selling her crude in exchange for petrol, the other products are not remitted, that's why you can't find common kerosene in Nigeria.

They encouraged and gave licence to their stooges to build private refineries, while the state refineries are not functioning. Dangote refinery is almost ready to reap bountifully.

IMF and their accomplices like okonjo Iweala, that guillible Nigerians celebrates, has continued to devalue the naira,so that they can buy cheap products from us, because of our indebtedness and she's being compesated with international appointments.

Despite the huge income the sales of oil generates, Nigeria GDP is among the lowest in the world, because chunk of the monies are use in servicing debt aside those that were looted by greedy Leaders

Our leaders must be held accountable for this fraud.

Useless country! You have the raw materials, but you choose to sell and purchase the final product rather than converting your raw materials to useful product. Since APC's promises in 2015 and their epileptic performances, I stopped believing in all politicians. Even "Mola" enter rep through PDP and later decamped to APC, now tell me who is to be trusted among all of them. O su mi.
nigeria is a lost course.

A sudden paradigm shift (from the elite class to young vibrant unknown leadership)and change in constitution and also maybe a balkanization of this entrapment called Nigeria is what can initiate a little change.

Nigeria is a dead wood. The government is seriously confused with reality and can't help themselves or its citizens.

we are living in age of modular installations of oil and gas facilities. Here we are still importing petroleum products. Its a shame and unfathomable..the whole country is waiting on dangote to complete his refinery and further enslave us just like he is running the cement sector.

It's a shame..

From all you wrote it is obvious people like you were at the the protest in Ojota in 2012!

You guys set Nigeria back by at least 20 years. Buhari had a chance to correct the anomaly in 2016. He failed, Nigeria may never have a chance to reform this sector after this. The world is not waiting for you guys.

So how were we able to buy petrol at less than #100 when crude oil was $100 per barrel?

Don't tell me subsidy because these clueless people are also paying subsidy.

I wonder how much we will be paying per litres if crude oil per barrel is $100 under this administration.

Our refineries are not working because for years we sold fuel.and kerosene at an artificially low price in the name pf subsidy.

Thus no profit to keep refineries well maintained

Subsidy is the answer!

When fuel was $100 per barrel, FG was paying billions in both legit and fraudulent subsidy claims.
