The statement can be interpreted in so many ways, and in none does its meaning favours Mr Adesina's principal. One, it can be viewed as saying Nigerians now have
to find ways to secure themselves, just like the Minister of Defence urged us to defend ourselves.

It then logically follows that if the police, the army, the navy, the air force, the customs, the immigration service, the civil defence corps, DSS, etc are all in Buhari's hand, and states and local governments are not constitutionally allowed to form their own variants of those forces or paramilitary forces, then anyone charged with the responsibility of managing them to secure us is solely responsible for our security.

Therefore, if we cannot depend on the commander in chief, who has all those in his hand, for our security, according to Mr Femi Adesina, then, invariably, his boss is a disappointing misfit.

Or how else do we interprete what his mouth piece has said? Was the president aware of the statement before it was made? If not, then Mr Femi Adesina must be queried for making that kind of speech which in essence, like Salihu Yakassai's, has scored the president below the water mark and displayed the erosion of the raison d'etre of his administration.

Frankly, I still do. I have no idea why. But some strong conviction in me still eggs me on. There will be a Nigeria long after the dust from our bones are gone.

Long before our generation, for eternity after our generation, don’t mind these children that are wasting their short lives imagining an illusion that Nigeria will break up, rather the Military would suspend the constitution, take over power & restore order as mandated by the constitution which they had just suspended. They are wasting their time to even imagine their mirage utopia Biafra been mislead by that Judas Goat Nnenna Kanu.

Who says States are prohibited from forming their own security outfits, then why do they collect billions of Naira monthly for security votes from the Central Government? What do the States use the monthly allocation for? Let me guess, To pay the police, which already is been paid by the Federal Government?

Collecting billions of naira is different ball game.
The 1999 constitution of Nigeria ( as amended) does not allow state police or local government police. The commissioner of police in a state is not answerable to the governor but IGP and the latter to the president. It is part of the federal might being used by those in charge in Abuja.

So Mr PRESIDENT should remove Police Control from the EXCLUSIVE LIST.

And allow the whole Hyrachy of Police from Recruits to IGP be with our 36 CONSTITUTIONAL STATE GOVERNMENTS.

Red herring! That is not the issue! The issue is that he has not shown us sufficiently enough that he is hands-on and concerned about the security of the realm.

And OBJ asked for a third term, we called out for his head.

OBJ was bad.....OBJ was bad

Please what exactly is the definition of bad?

Buhari would never have made President in 2015 if OBJ had been outgoing President in 2011

Winning the war of insurgency is very easy. It just require a sincere decision void of any sentiments and political/religious affiliation. In this part of the world we all are too attached to our roots and its very worrisome. If it were the east that is disturbing the whole country, it won't the security outfits one week to clear the region of any insurgent.

Farki:

He is still retaining that useless IGP, he didn't appoint competent people but ass kissers as service chiefs and took 6 years to get rid of them.

Nobody expects Buhari to take a gun like Rambo but his leadership is just directionless.
The immediate mm past chief of army staff is from Bornu, he should be able to understand the level of insecurity in his own state and how to help resolve it.

The same idiot admitted that Buhari only appointed the him as a favour to his father. His being from Borno is not enough to make him a competent commander as the terrorists still turned the area into their playground.
