Man pretending to be an Okada rider arrested for allegedly walking into a compound and attempting to snatch a 4-months old baby from the mother

The police in Anambra state have arrested a man who posed as an Okada rider, Ikecgukwu Odom, 25, and attempted to kidnap a four-months-old baby from the mother.

A statement released by Mohammed Haruna, spokesperson of the state police command, says on Sunday, February 28, the police received a distress call at Okpunoeze Uruagu, Nnewi that a 25-year-old man, Ikechukwu Odoh, who pretended to be an okada rider allegedly went into a compound in the area and attempted to snatch a
four months old baby girl named Success Odeh from her mother.

''The mother resisted and screamed for help which attracted the attention of the neighbours who in conjunction with local vigilante assisted the police in arresting the suspect.''Haruna said.

The police spokesperson added that the case is currently under investigation to ascertain the motive behind such act, after which the suspect will be brought to justice.

Why waste time break his legs, hung him tire, pure some fuel,ignite the idiot, a send him to hell. Make some video and have fun.

The only way to stop child thief and trafficking is to ban adoption and enforce use of traditional method of tackling childlessness.

Govt of Anambra State should encourage childless couples to use acceptable customary practices to have child. Such methods include polygamy, traditional concubinage (ihachi nwanyi), woman can marry woman in place of her husband or son or brother, etc.

By encouraging people to do these well established customs of their people, this crime of child stealing and trafficking will die a natural death.
