Willis Haviland Carrier was a very important American inventor, best recognized for inventing modern refrigerant gas air conditioners. He invented the first electric air conditioner in 1902. This was long before most of the appliances we use today were invented, and many people question his claim to have invented the electric air conditioner. The actual inventor of the electric air conditioner was a man named Samuel Simon. Some people also question whether or not the two men were actually friends, and if so, how they came together, and what impact their relationship had on the creation of the air conditioner.

Willis was in charge of developing the new electric generator and was also responsible for some of the initial work that went into the electric motor. After working with his brother, Wm. Simon Carrier became interested in the motor and electricity itself. His fascination with electricity did not stop there. In fact, he became so deeply involved in it that he wanted to patent everything related to electricity, including an all-electric railway, an electric telegraph, and even an electric ocean.

This is significant because it shows just how much a great interest in science and technology the inventor had. Even after his electrical creation, he continued to study and make improvements to the system. The reason for this is important, because his improved designs allowed him to better sell the idea to others. This patent helped pave the way for others to develop more efficient systems, which led to the current electrical age.

This is important because in this day and time, modern air conditioners are not built with the same efficiency that they were built with in past decades. Modern advancements in technology mean that the energy output from air has vastly increased, making air conditioners less efficient. As a result, AC efficiency has decreased. Another thing to consider is that because AC efficiency has decreased, AC energy output has skyrocketed, leading to higher bills and AC malfunctioning. If the inventor had patented his air conditioner design, then it is likely that we would not be experiencing these problems today.

This is important because by getting his ideas and inventions patented, he could have received a lot of money for them, instead of only earning a few pennies on each air conditioner. In today's economy, it is important that you save as much money as you can. This is especially important for home owners who have to pay their monthly electrical bill using their home's electricity. There are many benefits to having your air conditioners repaired or replaced instead of sold. The inventor would have received a large amount of money if his idea were made public, but he probably never would have survived the initial obstacles in patenting his invention.

This is important because if someone has an idea that is very useful, then they will most likely spend their entire life working on it. Think about the numerous times that you have come home from work, been stuck in traffic, or even during the summer heat, and had to sit outside in the sweltering weather to cool off. There is a reason why the United States leads the world in the manufacture of air conditioners; their innovative minds have created some of the most reliable, efficient, and cost effective air conditioners on the planet. You should take advantage of all of the research that has been done and allow yourself to enjoy a comfortable, cool home with electric air conditioning in the months when it is too hot to bear.
