Today in Okigwe truly witnessed a day the rural in the Local Government have always prayed for as Ms Adaora Onyechere in partnership with Gender Research Advancement International puts smile on participants and beneficiaries of a laudable scheme tagged “EDUCATE HER” where girls from all Public schools in the LGA got their 2021 WEAC registration paid off and many received scholarship awards.

I want to use this medium and opportunity to thank partners of Gender Research Advancement Initiative, the schools, the children, and their parents who made this event a success to tell.

In light of this, the advocacy and focus of all stakeholders must become deliberate and proactive in the education and wellbeing for the girl child as a tool for sustainable development and also build women who influence strong institutions of change.

In these girls are the Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealas the Arunma Otehs , the Mo Abudus, the Amina Mohammeds, The Paullen Tallens , Dora Akunyili’s, the Amb Kema Chikwes, The bisi Fayemis,The Nkeiruka Onyejeochas’ Chimamandas, The Esther Uzomas,The Joy Ezeilos, the Mary Ikokwus,Dr Oby Ezekwesilis, the list is endless.

The future is female and the future is now, what better time to reiterate the importance of education and the endless possibilities that are open to our girls when they are educated.

The high point of the event was handing over cheques to the Beneficiaries. Ms Adaora Onyechere is the Head, Women and Gender Affairs cluster committee, AU-ECOSOCC, Executive Director WeWe Network Afrique, Founder Yellow Jerrycan Save A Child Foundation and board member of many organizations.
