Offa/Erin-Ile Crisis: Fedpoffa Management Evacuates Students In Hostels To Safer Area, Situation Under Control The recent crisis between Offa and Erin-Ile communities has been brought under control as Kwara State Government declared curfew from 6pm to 8:am with immediate effect. The curfew as stated by Chief Press secretary to Kwara Governor, Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye will last till further notice when the Government is certain that normalcy has been fully restored. Meanwhile, the Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa through the Security Unit has moved all the students who are residents in the hotels from the Polytechnic Mini Campus to ensure safety. The Polytechnic Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Olayinka Iroye on behalf of the Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji had earlier visited the Polytechnic Mini Campus to look after the students in the hotels and explore a proactive channel that will guarantee safety for all students. In his reaction, he said "the situation is under control and curfew has been enforced by State Government. We have make sure that our students who are staying in the hostels in the Polytechnic Mini Campus have been moved out for safety purpose." He further stated that due to the security situation and the enforcement of curfew, the Management has requested all staff and students to remain at their various homes until further notice. "I also want to assure you that all our students are safe as we pray to God to restore peace in the two communities and Nigeria at large," he added. He however admonished staff students to stay indoors, avoid crisis areas and obey the curfew enforced by the State Government.
