"used for two weeks" done dey now.
I'm really waiting for an advert that will say "the car was used for one hour"

Exactly! “Used for two weeks” in Nigeria that everybody na predator?

Anytime you see “Used For Two Weeks or even Two Months”, just know that the vehicle has been used for “Two Years” and the engine probably has been abused beyond redemption.

What annoys me the most is seeing these donkey-brained car dealers advertising a 2010 vehicle with the caption of “2013/2014”.

They think everybody is as daft as everybody in their family. Very dubious & dishonest set of nonentities.

The same goes for the “Used Phone Dealers”.

it's quite unfortunate that unemployment has turned many people to overnight car dealer dishing out lies to members of public

Many of such lies includes;

✓ This car has low mileage but when you eventually see the car in real life, it will have mileage of over 250k

✓ Claim theres nothing to be fixed on the car but when you see the car & test drive it then you will realize there's lots of work to do on the vehicle

✓ The biggest of these lies is that vehicle was registered less than 6months or 3months but when you check the number plate, it shows car registered over 3years

✓ Another lies is that owner doesn't drive it much because he's out of town, owner has travelled out, owner is based abroad etc

please stop dishing out lies to brand your cars as super neat, most of the time you are wasting customers time & destroying your reputation at the same time

MY ADVICE TO BUYERS
When you are buying Tokunbo or naija used cars, ensure that you check the vehicle thoroughly and dont rely on word of mouth from dealer/marketer

If you are buying a Nigerian used car, ensure that you bargain very well & never listen to any dealer claiming that owner hardly uses the vehicle or owner is based abroad, vehicle was used by female banker etc, its all lies to cheat you and sell the car to you at expensive price

There is this neighbor of mine. He deliberately buy faulty cars. He will bring it home and spend two week or a month to fix the faults. He will then sell it to unsuspecting buyers. He did it like three times now. The fourth one don hook am for throat. He couldn't get buyers for it.

OP actually mentioned that. To me it is one of the funniest excuses for overinflated pricing of a tokunbo car grin Are they saying that the price would be lower if the car was used by a male banker?

I wouldn't jump to buy a used by a woman car. Women in general know very little about cars and Kazeems will run racket on them.... switching out parts ... rewiring ... etc .... not that they don't do that to men .... but not as often and as daring. They are likely to "fix" the car so every two weeks it must return to the shop.

Reminds me of my dad's friend's experience.
Fell for all the lies and ended up buying a damaged car for his friend.
He had to buy another, repair the one he bought and then sell it.
Re: Lies From Car Dealers! BUYERS BEWARE by Megaautos(m): 1:51pm On Feb 08
Was it reregistered? Maybe it is second registration because that’s ridiculous and you should be able to differentiate between a car used for that long and recently registered. When they tell you things like this, ask them is it first registration? Tell them to snap a part of the custom paper showing the date on the custom, that will expose them. Also some owners don’t give dealers accurate information, when a car owner give a dealer a wrong information, that is what he or she will spread out as well.

theres a car i wanted to buy for my client, seller said its less than 6months used but when I got there, i realized car has been registered and ben used in Nigeria since 2008. imagine a car used for good 13years and marketer claiming its less than 6months used

There is this belief that women are better car users forgetting that women only starts car and drive and most don’t even check anything that has to do with maintenance and all that.!

If you are buying foreign, there are websites that can give you the car history, how many owners in the past, accident records and mileage. It's not free, you have to pay for it.
Re: Lies From Car Dealers! BUYERS BEWARE by cuteboy2: 1:55pm On Feb 08
The website Vinsols dot com does an excellent job of helping you check the history of your. Just put in your VIN number or car chassis number and get the full report sent to your email.

No more lies from car dealers.

They are running AFCON promo now on Twitter @vinsols1

Buying a car is not a good investment.

It's a liability.

If u have good money, and I mean...good money, go for properties instead.

There are so many properties that can generate you good and steady income in future. You won't even have to work a day in ur life again.

A man in UK just bought a Warehouse in Lagos worth N550M. The place can be used for anything. He wants to rent it out to any manufacturing or events company.

Guess his yearly rent? A whooping N165M yearly.

Baba plans to retire to Nigeria from UK and be enjoying his N165M yearly while relaxing and doing nothing in his home in Lagos.

Or

Imagine buying a Petrol Station. I have one Petrol Station I am marketing as we speak. Going for N1.3B at surulere, Lagos.

Imagine the money coming into Account daily if u purchase it . Especially now that fuel keeps increasing.

People should be smart. I have learnt alot from rich people just these past few days.

They think Investment while we the masses think consumption.

Life is not by too much struggle.

Especially cars and buses sold at Berger Apapa. We were dealt with sometime last year, when we went to buy a T4 Volkswagen bus, they repacked a Nigerian used bus to us as a direct Belgium bus, the bus till date is still showing us shege.

If you want to buy foreign used car, go with a very good mechanic and also make sure you have a long list of the things you want to check. The car will not pass all the checks and the information will be useful to you during negotiation.

If you are buying a Nigerian used car, go with a mechanic that is extremely experienced and the list of things to check should be longer. That is because Nigerian used is special case.
