Nope! Go back home, buy land and ranch your animals by yourselves.RUGA is not going to work.Otherwise large hectares of land must also be allotted to pig, sheep, duck, chicken, camel, donkey farmers etc. |

Racoon: The Lagos State Butchers Association has requested the provision of about 50, hectares of land [/b]from the Lagos State Government for ranching and rearing herds of cattle in the state. Read the story before rushng to comment. The OP is misleading. 4 Likes 1 Share |

chaotik: Do you people, only able to mouth 'split' always, think deeply at all? Ever? So if your neigbour is a nuisance would you not try to check his nuisance before moving out hastily to go and live under a bridge? Till Nigeria splits, all sensible adults know we still have to deal with today and now before daydreaming about what is not possible currently and may even not be possible in 20 years time. This news reveals a good plan all pragmatic Nigerians should encourage. 2 Likes |

seunmsg:Thanks but there is a possibility that the Fulanis among them may want to hijack it if they ended up taking up the leadership. |

Yes. This is the way to go. Why bring in foreign investors from futa jalon that will not pay taxes, destroy crops and rape land owners? Empower your own folks, give them land, fertilizer for animal feed, support taxing in any way and let them produce things locally. This is how to play politics. 2 Likes |

To all those who don't understand this news. Butchers are not Fulani herdsmen they are mostly Yorubas and if the government can provide land for ranching for them I think it will bebetter. That will encourage them to go into the cattle rearing enterprise instead of waiting for Fulani to come supply us cattle. Depending solely on Foolanis for cows is what has led us to where we are today in Southern Nigeria where Fulani are killing our people all under the guise of herding cows. However I doubt if Lagos can make available 50,000 hectares of land considering the fact that Lagos is compressed and it is resting on the ocean. If the idea is finally achieved Foolanis should not be allowed in the ranch. God bless Southern Nigeria 1 Like |

malcom1X:They can follow the Lake Rice pattern. I am sure Benue, southern Kaduna and Plateau folks will prefer to be employed by one mega organisation that cannot be overrun by a few hundred Fulani herdsmen and a handful of supporting army officers than to endure bodily rape and killings from futa jalon investors. 1 Like |

Charmingrascal:They can adopt Lake rice pattern. One big umbrella entity housing various ranches, either as units within the entity or private ranches is safer for Benue, plateau and Kaduna youths than having to wake up in the middle of the night to gun shots and dead bodies. |
