Good one. That's the power of social media. Africans have basically been nonentities all these years, but not anymore, because blackberry made the mistake of gracing our doorstep.

For me Iron Maiden deserves my vote not some drug-addicted, political thug & drunken sociopath that died in his prime due to poor life choices. The same misogynist that objectified we women.

Come be AFONJA again. Mbanu.

Well, to your disgrace mama flat head, the Afonja has taken over the vote and he's gonna win against all odds.

Even in death he's better than all your elders put together

My papa never took drugs, smoked irresponsibly, wearing pant like a deranged lunatic, fucking anything female that moved, littering the earth with hundreds of illegitimate bastards and dying shamefully of AIDS.

Yh his lifestyle choices were self destructive.
But his music were something else.

I know a lot of ppl praise him but don't really understand how good his music was.

There's a reason why music professionals, legends around the world were awestruck by his music. From jazz legends to the Beatles. Serious musicians and composers not autotune pop singers.

I learned music production self studied, analyzed different compositions, but when I got fela's music, that was when I realized how bad he was.

His compositions are so complex, it was overwhelming. He was truly a master at is work. If anything deserves his the respect he gets. Actually he commands it.

Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti has been nominated for the 2021 class of the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. See previous thread here. https://www.nairaland.com/6410112/fela-kuti-nominated-2021-rock

He stormed into the lead after Nigerians began an online campaign to get people to vote for him.

However, votes from Nigerians have waned in the past few days and he has now been overtaken by Tina Turner.

Great suggestion!
Only, we can't duplicate this thread. So the stickying should be in this section at least.

Nothing wrong to hate Fela for who he was. Fine!
But your last statement is void of wisdom.

Hatred and envy for Afonja is what will kill most of you.

Afonja has been at the forefront of international music for time in memorial.

Name any Igbo that has done exploits in music like the Afonjas you hate so well.

Seal

Davido
