Depends on your definition of achievement. If you can sleep soundly without power interruption, stable government policies, awesome healthcare, stable learning environment for kids and you can grow at your own pace? I would call that an achievement.

Another name for breakthrough is also "achievement". e.g. he has achieved a big breakthrough in his career... is also the same as he has made a big achievement in his career.

Well, with the situation of the country now, trying out is like building a 30 storey building. If that is not an achievement, the travelling out of the country isn't.

Anyway, you are partly right. Doing well is relative. In Nigeria, it could mean living in a mansion with 10ft high fence, on top of the fence, you have broken bottles, nails, barb wires, electric fencing etc and a big gate and dogs and gateman all in a bid to feel safe grin while abroad, it could mean living in a house without fence, security dog, gateman and yet feel safe.
This life no balance at all grin

Based on the current situation of nigeria, is actually an achievement, most especially if the person no work harder to enjoy what he has never enjoyed in his country of origin, whalai nah achievement.

This country is too hostile for even animal not to talk of people, alot of struggling, even graduate who born candles overnight are suffering.

You suffer to even ho to school, to get job, they will tell you, come with 5years experience with 20-25 age limit..

When I was still in the banking industry, my former Assistant Bank Manager went to US the who was earning over 1million, with alot of mouth watering bonus to go and start from scratch in US.

Now he's better than how he was despite the fact the he was earning close to like x30 of what i was earning then.

What people are struggling to achieve in their country is always very easy when they get to a saner country, because you have alot of things to focus on, nothing like PHCN would take light now, nothing like sudden fuel increase.

Lalasticlala, I think this pieces is front page worthy.

Not an achievement per se, more like an ESCAPE.
