Following the release of seven suspects arrested by the police in connection with the crisis that erupted in Shasa market, Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State, some affected traders have expressed dissatisfaction over the release while others call for more investigation into the matter.

Some of the traders asked the police to provide the first suspect who killed a shoemaker, which led to the destruction of lives and properties.

The chairman of Sasa Market Traders Association, Alhaji Usman Idris Yako, told Daily Trust that the Hausa Community was not happy with the released of the suspects.

He said: “We thought the suspects are going to face the wrath of the law to prevent future occurrences, but they are not.

“We are not surprised about the outcome, that is why we did not go back to Shasa market. We are now doing our businesses in our new base in Akinyele.

“Most of the assistance giving by the government and well-wishers is not enough.”

He further said support was rendered through Sarkin Sasa who has no business in Shasa market.

“The Sarkin Sasa who has no business in Sasa collected many of the palliatives.

“He didn’t give us anything. We are the real victims but here we are. We have decided not to go back to Sasa for our own safety,” he said.

However, Chief Popoola Rasheed, Babaloja of Sasa market, said” “I cannot pray for them to be jailed since the police and superior authority have said they have no case to answer.”

A trader in the market, Mrs Rebecca Akinjide, said those arrested were not the real suspects.

“If the police truly want to do their job, they should look for the boy that killed that shoemaker.

“Those people arrested are all Yoruba, who are mere residents of Sasa. Those who killed the man should be arrested. Ninety per cent of the properties destroyed were owned by the Yoruba people.

“Do you think they can be foolish to burn their own properties? The seven people we are talking about were arrested by soldiers who were protecting the Hausa people. We know the politics,” he said.

The police public relations officer Olugbenga Fadeyi said the police acted on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution.

“Soldiers arrested the seven people and handed them over to the police. We told you that they were released based on the advice of the DPP,” the police spokesman said.

I leave this as a declaration of intent, so no one will be confused. One: "Si vis pacem, para bellum." Latin. Boot Camp Sergeant made us recite it like a prayer. "Si vis pacem, para bellum - If you want peace, prepare for war."

Two: in certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue... natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive, it's an emotional response. No, not vengeance. Punishment.

Three: they'll definitely try again and my brothers When the river dries up, we will all see where the crocodile sleeps

For releasing those suspects those responsible will be prosecuted and sent to jail. How dare you release them? For what exactly? The shoemaker they killed all seven of them should face firing squad. For they have done worse than wakili that have killed and abducted many. Killing of one shoemaker cannot be compared to 1000 other lives wakili has destroyed.

The moniker above me is now blaming Igbos and Jonathan for the crimes of their master, the Fulanis. Why are they always scared of the fulanis?

The Yoruba elders said they will not go to war with the Fulani herdsmen, they prefer the Fulanis kill all of them than going to war.

Well, I wish them what they wished themselves. My special prayers are with their siblings in IDP camps in Benin.

One Nigeria my AS$

It’s glaring we are not one, let’s stop deceiving ourselves

A country built on lies and deceit can never and will never know peace or progress

There will always be an issue of “we” against “them” our “region” their “region”

If Aguyi Ironsi (An Igbo Man) didn't abolish the regional government, everyone in their respective region would have the strength to take care of their region and be responsible for happenings there, now the same yeye people are shouting restructuring, the restructuring they used their hands to wipe out, the restructuring they didn't clamour and crave for when they had people who represented them in Jonathan six years, awon werey alabosi, the only thing they know is crying wolve and playing victim card.

So how does this relate to the post??
You're just a mere Igbophobic clown and you'll die of the toxicity!

Why do you always digress just to cause trouble? You have not defended his claims that Aguyi Ironsi your grandfather was first to abolish regional government.

Hmmm..... the military investigating and making arrests in civilian matter ...... and handing them over to the Police..... and we see nothing wrong with this. They should be released... regardless of they were the ones. But we are shocked that the suspects are all released. We have been sooo dumbed down that we no longer know the difference in the role of Police and the role of the military.

This is between Yoruba and Hausa o, and you are bringing the Igbos into it because of your fear for the Hausa's.

If the Igbos were the people killing you in your land, will you be opening that your dirty mouth and talk bad about the Hausa's your masters?

Am I surprised that the Hausas are disappointed?

The Hangman will always forbid the passage of the noose through his courtyard!
When they foment trouble and wreck havoc on 'non-indegnes' up north, do the culprits ever get to face the law?
So, they expect to win always? They forget that some of the people they treated unjustly yesterday may become the judge over their case today?

Did someone say Karma is a LovePeddler! grin

What goes around always comes around...

The one wey sweet me baaad na the way that Sarkin Shasa scam him own people grin grin grin
