too bad....he didn't deserve it, he was only doing his job
Which yeye job was he doing? Did you not read that the area did not have light for 3 weeks, and IKEDC brought brought estimated bill for just one week of electricity (even thought during the one week, there was still load shedding).

All these problems could easily be solved by providing meters and stopping estimated billing.

EBMedia:
Residents of a community in Lagos state assaulted a staff of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) while carrying out his job, IgbereTV reports.

It was gathered that he had gone to disconnect the power line of bill defaulters when he was attacked by members of the area who claimed they have not seen power for three weeks.

In a video which surfaced online, a man with deep cuts in his head was being stitched up by medical personnel.

According to Twitter user, @Nigeriangod_, who posted the video, residents of the community attacked the IKEDC for disconnecting electricity shortly after coming out of three weeks power outage in the area.

In the video, the man could be seen bleeding and groaning in pain as he received medical attention.

Because of the risk currently encounterd in the process of legitimately carrying out their assigned duty, i suggest the will be allowed to carry AK-47 riffle. Or what do you think Governor Bala?

It is wrong to violently attack electricity company personnel. Seriously prepaid meter will stop all these confrontations. In some African countries, customers pay a small amount and the prepaid meter is installed. When they recharge the meter, 20% of the amount is deducted to offset the balance for the prepaid meter. They should try and implement that in Nigeria.

Wetin dey occur? E be like say the next endsars na #ENDPHCN e go be o. One case of assault with machete in Imo, another case of harassment using canine also in Imo and now a third case of breaking bottle on the head of PHCN staff.

And these are just the ones that are reported in the news. What of the ones not reported? Once the awareness gathers momentum, it won't take long for the virus to spread nationwide. By then, any PHCN staff that makes the mistake of identifying yhinself in a strange street or neighbourhood, na to break bottle go be next.

a very big GBOSAA!!! for the person that broke that empty head... why would NEPA be climbing pole like MONKEYS, when they can just simply issue a pre-paid meter to residents to avoid all this scenario.

Times are hard and Nigerians are not smiling...
My neighbor just informed me yesterday evening that this same IKEDC sent a bill of 53k for two of us for the month of February...
How do you expect me to be happy paying 25k for a room self-con in a month undecided

How much is my one year rent that I should paying that amount as electricity bill.
