Same rubbish analogy many of u use.
A rent in the abroad is at least $1k=₦450,000 per month.Thats d yearly average in Nigeria.
Electriciity bill sets you back least ₦45k.
Don't just compare dollar exchange rates.Look at comparative earnings and comparative cost of goods and services.
The person earning $3000 per month abroad, yes has a higher standard of living, but comparatively spends the same average percentage of his salary on bills and living cost with the ₦100-₦150k salary earner here.
The major difference is the vastly improved standard of living, services and life over there, not necessarily the earnings per person.
Cost of say gala abroad is about $0.5= ₦250-₦300/one.Here it is ₦50!

I get your analysis, but your comparisons are way off.

If one take the top range of your salary range of a Lagos earn and assume the same rent analysis, it means for a salary of N150,000.00, their comparable rent in Lagos will be N50k/PA, which tally with one third of the rent you stipulated for a US earned of $3000/monthly.

Bros, if dem show a house that rents for N50k/PA in Lagos, you will not even allow your enemies to live there, face-me-I-face is more expensive than that in Lagos and on average those who live there earn less than N100k/month.

My point is, apart of the higher standard and quality of living obtainable abroad; on average Nigerians spend more on living expenses as a ratio of their income compare to those living abroad.

Tell us which state in Nigeria pays better than Lagos State.

In another angle, they were able to sleep because of the comfort in the bus and the confidence in the driver. If the vehicle is damn hot, no one would sleep but rather they would be fanning themselves. Same thing, they wouldn't sleep if the driver was reckless.

Lagos a mini country inside Nigeria
