Imo Teachers Protest Against Non-payment Of 12 Months Salaries by nony43(m): 5:09am On Mar 19, 2021
Primary and secondary school teachers in Imo Thursday staged a peaceful protest over state government’s failure to pay their salaries for 12 months consecutively.


The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the protest, which was held in front of the Government House, Owerri, temporarily halted human and vehicular movement in the area.

It was learnt that the action was triggered off by Gov. Hope Uzodimma’workers. ed claim that teachers who had yet to receive their salaries were ghost workers.

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions, such as “Uzodimma lied to Imo people on teachers’ salary”, “We are not ghost workers, we have our employment letters, please pay us” and “Uzodimma come and see us and prove we are ghost workers.

Everything is just upside down in this country.

So they expect those teachers to impart knowledge to the children happily with empty stomach

I won't be surprised if only 2 students in a class of 85 understand what they are being taught.
