Port Harcourt was called Obom-Otu and is till called Obom-Otu by Obulom (Abuloma) people of Wakirike-Ijaw to this day.

It was name Harcourt when the British bought the land for the Port and Railway Terminal Project to facilitate export of coal and other resource to UK.

The Port City was Named to honor then Secretary to the Colonies Lord Vermont Harcourt by Reginald Hagroove in what become known and documented as the Hagroove Agreement of 1913.

We can find lots of documents that establish both in land sale Agreement and Court Judgement that it was indeed called Obom-Otu and it was Owned and inhabited by Obulom-Ijaw Clan.

Obulom-Ijaw Clan was one of the 9 foundational clan that formed the Wakirike-Ijaw Confederation as one of then then Sovereign city states.

In many costomary, legal/judicial, Historical and Archeological work as I may present, Wakirike-Ijaw copiously documented Obom-Otu as Land of Obulom people (Abulome-ni as called in Wakirike-Ijaw expression)

Abuloma, moved into Obom-Otu from Ikibiri in Central Ijaw.

Obom-Otu of Obulom have strong influence and relationships with the ogbiaoid-ijaws to which Abua, odual, Bukuma, Ogbogolo, Ogbia, Emego etc as a linguistic group of Ijaws belong.

We have not published our work yet because we are working to properly establish the Ikibiri origin and the Ogbiaoid links.

But efforts are on. These are mere excepts from facts and thoughts that we are validating from records of pre, during and post colonial times .

The facts are fascinating

Obulom people are also found I'm Etchie and are called Ikwerre-Ngwo. Their near estinct language called ochichi is strongly related to Obulom, their family names are linked to families in Obulom and Obulom people have records of the circumstance of their movement from Okein-odo to Etchie region in the pre-colonial times.

Willink report prepared by the British who established Port Harcourt clearly noted on whose land it was established.
It was established on the land of the Diobus, outlying branch of the Ibo tribe. You can't possibly know about Port Harcourt than the British who established it.

The only way Ikwerre lose Ph is if they continue their Igbophobia, we would simply leave them to you lots.

Additionally, the place you call Abuloma was originally occupied by the Asa clan of the Igbo nation.
The current occupants there are but recent entrants.

I challenge OP and his Ijaw propagandists to provide just one colonial document where Port Harcourt was called an Ijaw city.

I had already posted one where it was called an Igbo city built on the land of the Diobus , a branch of the Igbo tribe.

I'll give you one. The document of purchase was the Obomotu Treaty of 1913. Obomotu is an Ijaw word from Obulom. Port Harcourt is originally Obomotu. Diobu chiefs were joined later on but their parcel of land was so small, Diobu was referred to as being near Port Harcourt

Where's the writing that calls PH an Ijaw city? You guys will not mind yourselves now. The closest Ijaws to PH is the Okrika Ijaws and the original land is on the Okrika Island. The only way PH becomes non-Igbo is Ikwerres becoming non-Igbo. So you can encourage them to deny being Igbos. But as long as they're Igbos, PH is an Igbo city. The Ogonis equally have a share in today's PH due to expansion.
You Ijaws should not make Igbos your enemies. You will lose more from it.

I've done enough findings to know that PH was built majorly on Ikwerre land. Ogoni and Okrika lands were later add-ons.

Beg? Is Ikwerre language not a member of the Igbo language? Ikwerres are Igbos culturally and would remain so unless they forsake the language and culture. Politically they can reject going with other Igbos which is what I meant. You can encourage them to do so thereafter you can mussle PH away from them.
Meanwhile, all historical records put the original Okrika land in Okrika Island. All those land fills your governors of old did to bring them to the mainland are well known. History is very beautiful as it exposes greedy people. At the right time, historical records will be presented at the courts for judgement and shaming the criminals.
This is a small case na. Igbo no be your mate.
