Dasuki is a leaner and the PDP needs to learn from this government what it means to steal with guts and bold face.

I can't believe this is the same Mr integrity most of us saw as the saviour of Nigeria from curruption. God forbid!

Never in history has this country been plundered like this in the last six years with nothing to show for it.

If an individual can build refinery, why not government?
Instead of wasting money on this outdated one why not build a modern one?
I sense deceit.
Another way of taking the national cake

Well, if the refinery works after the revamp, then thank God

But let's be honest, the real way forward would be to privatize NNPC, deregulate, and let the market set the price of petrol. And thus our refienreis would work without sabotage and make plenty money too
Re: FG Set To Go Ahead With $1.5 Billion Refinery Revamp Despite Criticisms by olmoRoc: 7:29am On Mar 20, 2021
Instead of spending that huge sum on several smaller refineries, they're scheming to steal it in the guise of spending it on a dead refinery.

Una do well!

1.Dangote's refinery is being built with $9 billion, $3 BILLION from Dangote's pocket, the remaining $6 billion from banks, who if the refinery fails, take over Dangote's remaining assets to get their money back.

2.FG does not have $9 billion to spare. That's one quarter of our reserves (CBN would scream if anyone touches the reserves) and nearly 1/3 rd of our budget. Oil prices are too low for us to earn enough income. And who is going to give a loss making corrupt venture like NNPC a loan?

When PDP was in power and doing good things like attemptinmg to remove subsidy, the opposition screamed 'they want to make Nigerians suffer'

APC now in power, PDP is doing the same thing.

It is called mudslinging. And sometimes it gets irrational. APC can be blasted for many things (security is one of them)....not for reviving refinereis. Whether it would be allowed to be profitable is another matter.

Just keep in mind, all this na politics. After 2023, when PDP wins, most of the screamers would be sounding like nice and kind people.

Brother, they want to chop money. They want to eat money. $1.5 billion is a very big money to a very poor country Nigeria with annual budget less than $30 billion. They should have just sold all those refineries.

Again, I don't blame them, Dangote disappointed FG. Emefiele relied so much on 2017 delivery date of Dangote Refinery supporting him with funds only for delivery dates to be shifted whenever expectation is high.

Buhari regime is very corrupt. They want to make as much money as possible before 2023.

Sure they will still do it.

One thing I noticed to this administration is that what ever bill they pass even if the people say they don't want it they will continue to move the bill cos the bill only favours them , but since they said they work for the people and the people say they don't want a certain bill why can't they look into it again and adjust it.

The best bet is PPP not government pouring water into a basket.
Nigerian cannot run a national airline, a TV station (nta), railways etc, you now want to give a refinary? What a joke!
visit cbn, npa, ncc, nnpc and see what is going on there, children of the aboki elites use those offices to get pocket money in the guise that they have a job. This is at the expense of professionalism. Same thing will happen in the Refinery. Spend $10b fixing them and as far as it is government, it will not work.

You may not understand but most Nigeriams understand the game government is playing here. It is a very dirty game.
