LAGOS – Afenifere, pan Yoruba so­cio-political organisation, on Friday, said it is not opposed to the calls for the actualisa­tion of Oduduwa Republic by activist, Sunday Adeyemi, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Chief Ayo Adebanjo, na­tional leader of the organisa­tion in a chat with Saturday INDEPENDENT said the only thing that can stop Yorubas from pulling out of the Fed­eral Republic is if President Muhammadu Buhari takes urgent steps to restructure the country and give the peo­ple an acceptable constitution.

According to him, they are not opposed to Igboho because he is speaking the minds of youths and masses of the country. He however said as elders they have been appealing to the youths to hold on and see if President Buhari will listen to the voice of reason by restructuring the country.

“Our position is clear, that is the position of the extreme ones in Yorubaland. That is why we are warning Buhari to do restructuring now. If he doesn’t do it, that is what is going to happen. The Yorubas will secede. We are trying to stop that and that is why we are asking the President to restructure the country now.

“The clamour for restruc­turing is all over the country now. Those of us who are ask­ing for restructuring now are the moderates. If not for the respect our people have for us, they would have stoned us because they believe we have been asking for restructuring over the years and nothing has come out of it. They are now saying ‘enough is enough’.

“But we are pleading with Buhari to save this na­tion from disintegration by restructuring and doing an acceptable constitution for us so that we can live in peace to­gether. For Igboho and others who are asking for secession, that is the wish of the youths and masses of this country. It is people like us who are pacifying them by asking for restructuring.

“So, our stand with them is that they should hold on and Buhari will be helping us to calm them down by doing the right thing because there is a limit to which we can stop them. Those who make peace­ful change impossible, makes violent revolution inevitable.

“We are not opposed to their stand on secession but we are asking them to hold on. If Buhari refuses, that will be the last resort” he said.

Honestly, i believe Buhari is not handling this sensitive matter very well. Obj met with Asari Dokubo back then, why can't Buhari do the same with the likes of Igboho?

So far, ESN, a non-governmental organisation has been doing their best to secure our farm lands so that our people can have a fruitful farming season this period.
It does not really matter if you like Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's pedigree or not.
This is not about him, or IPOB per se, this is about our people's safety and protection in their farms.
Those who have the means support ESN with money.
Those who have the gift of wisdom should dish it out to them.
Those who have military wherewithal and connaissance should deploy them to ESN.
Those who have youthful energy should make themselves available to the service of ESN.
Those who are blessed with literary prowess should write in favour of ESN.
Those who are blessed with gift of garb should speak in favour of ESN.
ESN is a people's movement.
If you can't join them don't bring them down!

Restructure Nigeria with regional authonomy , state police and a weak center.

Why would the destiny of a Nation above 200 millions with divers ethic groups be continually determined by one man and some legislooters year in year out?

And to make the matter worst, the country was dubiously structured to favour a section of the country.

I want us to continue as a Nation but, if the right thing is not done, maybe everybody should answer him papa name !

Restructuring Nigeria is as futile as trying to fly.

Even the bastard buhari, the president of fulani republic of nigeria can never stop us from getting our oduduwa nation, we are ready to lay down our lifes for the actualization of oduduwa nation.

please do the needful, why beg for restructuring, every country that achieves self-determination and becomes a nation don't beg for it.

Honestly,I commend the Yoruba nation and their elders for this bold step. Especially considering the incidents in Ogun state, their villages and Benin republic,to say the least.
The presidency need to consider,to the calls for restructuring,it's not just policies for cows and ruga.

Restructuring a project is another way to buy time....it is a process of postponing the evil day for generations yet unborn.....
Awolowo generation chanted for restructuring during the gowon Era a charade of arrangement was forced down our throats.....now Ayo Banjo also is chanting restructuring knowing full well that he doesn't have more time to live... I pity the unborn generation...this present govt has been borrowing money that has not been made to construct charade projects.... I fear for Nigeria....
