GOD DEMANDS FOR A LIFESTYLE OF THANKSGIVING.
"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him; rooted and build up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." Colossians 2; 6-7.
"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:20.
"In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him" - Colossians 3;15-17.
"I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” 1 Timothy 2: 1-2.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6
"Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks." Ephesians 5:4.

Written above are some of the charges on thanksgiving given to the New Testament believers. A critical study of all these charges reveal thanksgiving goes beyond church service activities or something we do occasionally. This is because looking at these charges on thanksgiving with such phrases as ‘abounding therein with thanksgiving’, ‘Giving thanks always for all things’, ‘in everything give thanks’ - these phrases all talk of giving of thanks to God as something that should be constant, continuous and not just an occasional Sunday service thing or morning and evening thing.
Furthermore, the verses understudied make the following known about thanksgiving;
1) It is an integral part of our Christian faith walk. Ephesians 5:20. Colossians 2; 6-7
2) Thanksgiving should be the core of our prayers. Philippians 4:6.
3) All our actions and deeds must be done with thanksgiving. Colossians3:15-17.
4) It must be part and parcel of our conversations. Ephesians 5:4.
5) We are to give thanks for everything. 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
6) Thanksgiving should be made for all men. 2 Timothy 2:1.
7) And last but not least we are to give thanks for all things. Ephesians 5:20.

What can we make out of these verses? They reveal that thanksgiving to God is more than just a commandment. These verses are simply talking about a lifestyle of thanksgiving! That is something that should be part and parcel of our lives. Simply put, it is talking about living a thankful life! This is quite revealing as God wants us all to live a thankful lifestyle.
A critical study of the Scripture reveals that our Lord Jesus lived a life of thanksgiving! All other men of faith Abraham, King David, Daniel, and Apostle Paul just to mention a few had lifestyles of thanksgiving!

A lifestyle of thanksgiving is one that gives thanks to God in the good times as well as in the bad times, all day long day-in and day-out. It is a lifestyle that expresses gratitude to God in all we do in life - thanks-living, thanks-breathing, thanks-speaking, thanks-thinking, thanks-feeling, thanks walking, thanks- imagining, thanks-singing, thanks-praying, and thanks-doing. A lifestyle of thanksgiving is a life of deep faith in God. A lifestyle of thanksgiving is a reflection of a heart fixed upon God; His love, goodness, and interventions in all our affairs of life.
How on earth can we achieve this? Simply by maintaining an attitude of gratitude to God all day long - that is living in the consciousness of the goodness and faithfulness of God all day long! A lifestyle of thanksgiving is a God-centered life, fearless, devoid of all troubles, worries, and worldly cares. This is God's recommended lifestyle for the believers in Christ Jesus. This is God's Kingdom lifestyle and it is the best lifestyle. Until one gets fully involved, one can never fully know or understand its gains and importance.

As Christians, a continual daily life of thanksgiving to God is a must in our privacy, family, and place of work all day long. A life of unceasing thanksgiving is mandatory for every true Christian unto our God who has called us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son. This implies you do it whether you feel like doing it or not, in storms of life as well as in smooth life’s sailing, whether you are happy or not, blessed or not.
The life of a Christian is a life full of the wonders of God. He loads us daily with benefits. The Lord has done so much for us, has favored us greatly. Dare we keep quiet and not gratefully acknowledge Him who has done and given us so much? Our Lord Jesus our Master and perfect example lived a lifestyle of thanksgiving for us to emulate.

God me? All you have done is list ideas from Paul on this. You don't even have a single reference to Jesus Christ, the one who is meant as your Master, commanding you to do Thanksgiving and praise, yet you declare that God demands it? undecided

No be Jesus Christ be Son of God? undecided
