Did he try to withdraw such amount earlier, if yes, then it's just network problem, but if not, then he should know that it's fraud and he should take it seriously.

No sir, he didn't make any attempt to make withdrawal via POS or any ATM Machine.

I still don believe POS can withdraw your money without authorization with your PIN.

Though we have cadless withdrawal, they will still need your sim and pin to withdraw your money.

Now it is either the person that know your PIN and have access to your card (it may be your friend or sibling) has withdrawn the money but the alert was not delivered on time or it you that made the withdrawal but was not successful at POS but you were debited as a result of error of the network.

If the victim looks inward he will actually know where the issue is coming from.

The more the technology advancement in Banking Sector such as BVN, ATM, NIN, POS, the more customers account at risk

No one can withdraw your money remotely without your debit card. It was either someone got the first digits and the Security code of his debit card or someone used his phone to transfer the money or someone used his debit card to withdraw the money. But there must be a relationship between his debit card or his phone.

sir it is very possible..... you can ask in the bank.... I have asked and was told it is possible..... there are some pos machine that saves the details of any ATM card used on it for ease in tracing transactions. and these details can be used against you
