The President, Vision Africa International and the Co-chair, Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has once again decried worsening security challenges in the country, insisting that even a blind person sees doom.

Bishop, Dr. Onuoha who has been calling on the Federal Government to address security challenges in the country, said Nigeria has become where lives and property of the citizenry is no longer guaranteed.

The Methodist Bishop who spoke on Wednesday amid increased bandit attacks, Boko Haram insurgency, abduction, stated that if authorities saddled with the responsibility of maintaining peace do not act now, the Nigerian nation will become extinct in the nearest future.

The Global Peace Award Winner expressed optimism that despite several challenges, Nigeria will surmount with right policy decisions. He equally cautioned those drumming and making inciting statements that could lead to war, to critically examine countries in war situations and pass judgement themselves.

Bishop Onuoha noted that anyone who witnessed the Nigerian Civil War from July 6, 1967 to January 15, 1970 would not call for a repeat, adding that as a child, during the war situation, experiences, gnashing of teeth, suffering, deaths of people in large numbers remain anew.

He equally made case for proper incentives to be given to security agencies who have been overstretched as a result of the myriad security challenges in the country.
