Top 10 Football Managers With The Most Trophies by Nobody: 9:12am On Mar 25, 2021
Today we are going to list down the managers with the most trophies in football. Some of the managers in this list are not active anymore but there’s no denying their contribution to the game. Those managers could develop systems that revolutionized football and got the best out of players who before were considered average.

10. Arsene Wenger (21 Titles)
Arsenal’s legendary manager, Arsene Wenger is a Frenchman who won 21 major titles during his managerial career.
The French coach has managed Monaco, Arsenal, and Nagoya Grampus. But he achieved major success during his time at Arsenal. Arsene Wenger has earned the nickname “The Professor” by the English and French media to reflect not only his tactics but also his demeanour. Wenger has committed himself to develop young talent at the teams he has coached.
The Frenchman started his managerial career in 1987 with Monaco. He bought several new players and led Monaco to a French Division 1 league win in its first season itself, that too with a very comfortable lead. 

Arsene Wenger joined Arsenal in 1992, where the dream run initiated. Wenger has won a total of 17 titles in Arsenal, and a cumulative of 21 titles, winning 2 each with Monaco and Nagoya Grampus.
Arsene Wenger is truly one of the most successful managers of all time and he is also among the coaches with most EPL trophies.

9. Roberto Mancini (23 Titles)
Roberto Mancini is an Italian manager who has achieved 23 titles in his managerial career. He is ranked at number 9 in the list of most successful football coaches. Mancini started his journey with Fiorentina in Serie A in 2001 and later on managed several top-flight football clubs including Manchester City and Inter Milan. He is currently managing the Italian national football team.

Roberto Mancini’s trophy haul is quite big as he has won 26 major titles in his managerial career.
He has won two Copa Italias, one with Fiorentina and one with Lazio in 2004. Roberto Mancini won 3 consecutive Serie A titles with Inter Milan.
The Italian also won the Premier League, the FA Cup, and FA Community Shield with Manchester City in 2012. With Galatasaray, Roberto Mancini won the Turkish domestic cup.

8. Jose Mourinho (25 titles)
Jose Mourinho is a Portuguese manager and has won 25 trophies as a manager. He is ranked at number 9 in the list of football coaches with most trophies. 
Mourinho started his managerial career in 2002 with Porto, after leaving his job as a school teacher. Jose Mourinho has managed several top-flight clubs including Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Chelsea. He is currently managing Tottenham Hotspur.
The Portuguese made a name for himself by miraculously winning the Domestic Double and the UEFA Champions League in the 2003-2004 season.

His managerial career flourished more and people started to praise him highly when he won the treble with Inter Milan in the 2008-09 season. He has won several Premier League trophies, as well as a La Liga title.
Jose Mourinho likes to call himself the “Special One” and he is among the coaches with most trophies in the world. The Special One is also among the coaches with most EPL trophies.


7. Ottmar Hitzfeld (25 Titles)
Ottmar Hitzfeld is a former football player and a manager who won 25 titles in his managerial career.
He is definitely one of the coaches with the most trophies in Europe. The German started his managerial career in Switzerland’s top flight where he won the Swiss Super League two times. 
Ottmar Hitzfield has managed various top-flight clubs in his managerial career including Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. with 25 trophies in his bag, Ottmar Hitzfield is one of the soccer coaches with most trophies.
Hitzfeld has won various Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.

He has also won the Champions League twice with Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Hitzfeld went on to win six Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich and two Bundesliga trophies with Borussia Dortmund.
Hitzfeld had the most successful year of his career in the 2000-2001 season in which he won the treble for Bayern Munchen, beating the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Valencia on the way to glory in the Champions League. Ottmar Hitzfeld is among the coaches with most trophies in Europe.


6. Luiz Felipe Scolari (26 Titles)
Luiz Felipe Scolari is a Brazilian coach who has won 26 major titles in his managerial career. Known as “Felipao” in Brazil, Luiz Felipe Scolari is one of the top ten football managers with most trophies. He started his managerial career in 1983 in his homeland, but his breakthrough came almost a decade later when he won six titles in only three years, including the 1995 Copa Libertadores.
The 70-year-old is currently managing Cruzeiro Football Club.

Scolari has managed various football clubs and national teams during his managerial career.  In total Scolari has managed 20 teams with a win percentage of 60, making him one of the most successful football coaches.
The highlight of Scolari’s career is winning the World Cup in 2002 with Brazil, where Brazil defeated Germany 2-0 in the final. Scolari also managed the Portuguese national team, where he continued his success by reaching the Euro 2004 final and the 2006 World Cup semi-final.

Felipe Scolari returned to the Brazilian national team for the 2014 World Cup. Brazil’s campaign was successful until the semi-final where the horrendous 7-1 defeat against Germany marked the worst day of Scolari’s career.
Nonetheless, Luiz Felipe Scolari is definitely one of the coaches with the most trophies in the world.

5. Jock Stein (26 Titles)
The legend of Scotland, Jock Stein has won 26 trophies during his managerial career and is among the managers with most trophies in football. Jock Stein started his managerial career in 1957 with the Celtic club and it was the start of a legacy. After short successful spells at Dunfermline and Hibernian, Jock Stein joined his lifelong club, Celtic in 1965.

Stein stuck around with Celtic for thirteen years and his reign at Celtic is considered as the most successful period in the history of the club. Among his titles in this period are Scottish league championships (10 times), Scottish Cup (8 times), Scottish League Cup (6 times) and Glasgow Cup (5 times).

Stein guided Scotland national team to the 1982 World Cup, where they were eliminated in the group stage by goal difference. Four years later, his Scotland side was on the brink of qualification in the game against Wales when Jock Stein suffered a heart attack at the end of the match and died shortly after. One of the tragic moments in the history of this great sport.

In total Jock Stein managed in more than a thousand matches, with a 63.58 win percentage. With a total of 26 trophies, Jock Stein is among the top ten football managers with most trophies.

4. Pep Guardiola (27 Titles)
The people who have been watching football for quite a while can not deny the Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful football coaches of all time. As a player, he was a vital member of Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona Dream Team. As a coach, he upgraded his mentor’s philosophy of the game into a new system of football.
With 27 major titles to his name, Pep Guardiola is among the coaches with most trophies in football. He is also among the coaches with most trophies in Europe.

In his first experience as a senior coach, Pep Guardiola led his Barcelona side a Sextuple. Pep Guardiola went on to win 14 trophies in just 4 seasons, which is an insane number, to say the least. His success has also made him one of the highest paid football coaches in the world.

The Spaniard has been collecting trophies with Bayern Munich and Manchester City. In 2018-19 season with Manchester City, his team won all the four domestic titles for the first time in the English football. Pep Guardiola is considered as a football genius and his modern style of attacking football is copied by many other football coaches.

In total, Pep Guardiola has managed three teams in around 700 games with a total win percentage of 72.53. He is truly among the coaches with the most trophies in the world.

3. Valeriy Lobanovskyi (29 Titles)
Valeriy Lobanovskyi was a Ukrainian manager who won 29 trophies during his managerial career. The Ukrainian started his managerial career in 1968 with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. But the first major success came in 1974 at his lifelong club, Dynamo Kyiv where he won both the league and Soviet Cup.

Valeriy Lobanovskyi is recognized for being one of the inventors of the major football-playing style known as “Total Football” in the 1970s. He was also among the first coaches who implemented the false-9 position which was then used by Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp in modern-day football.

During his managerial career, Lobanovskyi won a total of 27 trophies. Among his most important titles are Soviet Top League (8 times), Soviet Cup (6 times), Ukrainian National League (5 times), European Cup Winners’ Cup (2 times), and the European Super Cup (1 time).

2. Mircea Lucescu (32 Titles)
Mircea Lucescu is the second best among the soccer coaches with most trophies. He started his playing career in 1963 with Dinamo București and went on to feature for the team in the next 14 years.
As a manager, the Romanian was an instant success with the Romanian national team where he led his homeland to their first-ever appearance at UEFA European Championship finals.

Lucescu had a long career in Italy, where he coached some big clubs such as Pisa, Brescia, Reggiana, and Inter Milan. He then took charge of the Turkish club Galatasaray, with whom he won the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid in 2000.

Lucescu managed a total of 6 clubs in 834 games overall with a total win percentage of 65.8 and 32 trophies under his belt, making him one of the coaches with most trophies in Europe.

1. Sir Alex Ferguson (48 Titles)

Sir Alex Ferguson is the football manager with most trophies won. He is also one of the coaches with the most trophies in Europe. Sir Alex Ferguson started his career in 1974 when he was appointed manager of East Stirlingshire at the age of 32. Joined Aberdeen in the late ’70s, Ferguson’s side dominated the Scottish football league, winning a total of ten titles in five years.

Sir Alex was appointed the manager of Manchester United in 1986 when the Red Devils were lowly 21st place in the league. Ferguson was successful in transforming the team into natural born winners although it took him 5 hard years to do so.

After winning the league for the first time under Sir Alex in 1991-92 season, the Red Devils dominated English Football for the next two decades, only challenged by Arsenal at the beginning of the 21st century.

In total Sir Alex Ferguson won an incredible 37 titles with Manchester United. Overall he managed five teams in more than 2100 games, recording a win percentage of 58.9 and 48 trophies along the way.
Sir Alex Ferguson is also one of the coaches with most EPL trophies. Ferguson is rightfully at the top of the list of soccer coaches with most trophies in the history of football.

fergie stands miles above the rest because of the many years in spent on dt fantastic united team.
pep isn't doing baf and I see him coming close or topping fergie if he spend the rest of his career in city because he gat so many years to gaffer the team and this city would keep getting better...
the problem about spanish sportsmen in England is dt they easily get bored of the environment n may seek a move back to spain because of being close to their family n friends n dts what I see happening to pep in the next few seasons...
