Please people should not be angry with this. I think our military expecially the army has issues. The nigerian military fought a supposedly ill equiped biafran army for three years.
Also it did not really defeat the so called militants in the niger delta. Infact the government paid for peace. The boko haram issue has been going on for years without abating. Now bandits as distinct from boko haram fighters.(or are they all the same?) are attacking and killing soldiers at will.
Maybe we have saboteurs but I believe it's more than that. This carnage cannot continue like this. No matter how negative our perception of the military is, they are still the nigerian military, the last line of defence.Something is definitely wrong.

I don't think the right word for these guys is "bandits" I think they are actually ISIS or probably Al-Qaida. If the government doesn't do something serious about this, it would escalate into a very serious situation and even we in the South won't escape it.

just like Idi Amin's army that got used to killing unarmed civilians, when a trained army marched in from Tanzania, they fell like pregnant women. So it Naizooria's army. They are used to intimidating unarmed teenagers and protesters. They cant stand fellow armed men. Even when Nnamdi Kanu hastily put together a bgroup of men with no formal military training and armed them with few guns, the Naizoorian army could not face them, they had to go asking for help from airforce.

Depends on what the article meant by Military Camp. The article is a little unclear on this point, meandering, as it was, between mentioning camp and mentioning village. Military Camp, in the popular imagination, conjures images of military buildings, parade turf, military vehicles roaring up and down, flag pole, soldiers milling about etc and all of this activity confined within parameter walls or fences. In such a scenario, you would be right in wandering how on earth, terrorists could burst in, gun down soldiers, kidnap and escape with others unchallenged. The article however is not clear; it gives the impression that the incident took places in a local village that hosted military personnel. If this is the case then it shouldn’t be that surprising terrorists could ride in on convoys, gun blazing, and achieve the success reported...
