Itsekiri are part of the greater Oduduwa family- Ooni

Ooni rallies support for itsekiri in choosing new Olu of Warri.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has called on the Oodua descendants all over the world to be in solidarity with the Itsekiri people in the choice of the new Olu of Warri.
The Ooni made the call in a statement by Mr Moses Olafare, the Director of Media & Public Affairs, in his palace on Sunday, in Ile-Ife.

Oba Ogunwusi urged the Yoruba nation to support their “own Itsekiri people” , who were in the process of choosing new traditional ruler, Olu of Warri.

The Royal Father called on the Oodua people worldwide to find the lowest common factor that existed in their shared history, fear and aspirations.

The Ooni also noted that the unity of Yoruba people will further strengthen peace and understanding in Nigeria.

The traditional ruler called on Yoruba people across the country to pray and work together for its peace and harmony.

According to Ooni, the royalty in the House of Oduduwa is watching events in Itsekiri land and will appreciate if the people can continue to honour and respect the bound of oneness and common with the Yoruba people.

“The Itsekiri are part of the greater Oduduwa family. We cherish this great history. We shall do everything to defend and uphold it.

“Irrespective of which state you find yourself either Akoko, Itsekiri in Delta, Okun, Oworro in Kogi, we are all children of Oduduwa bound by common ancestry.

“We wish them peace and harmony in their search for prosperity in their ancestral land.

“The Ooni is particularly keen to see the sustainability of the blood-bound relationship between the Itsekiri and the Yoruba, a relationship that had been tested and trusted over history.

Generations of Yoruba and Itsekiri have the responsibility to uphold this important history,” he said.

Oba Ogunwusi also wished itsekiri people well in their General Assembly event, coming up on Monday, April 5.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that the Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli, joined his ancestors on December 2020.

The Ooni also urged Christians to use the Easter celebration to seek love and affection as demonstrated by Jesus Christ, who sacrificed his life to save many souls.

Which land in the Warri area was owned by yoruba people for the Ooni to make this reckless statement capable of inciting another round of conflict? The former incitement to violence carried out by Awolowo seems not to be enough abi?

Let us re-establish facts while the yoruba priest from Ife is on a crusade of lies.

1) Yoruba is a made up tribe consisting of many tribes including one tribe which was called oyo or yar.iba or yoruba. That tribe is the remnant of oyo Kingdom whose king is the alafin of oyo and whose main priest is called Oni of IFA.
The other people calling themselves Yoruba are mostly slave descendants, ijebu, some Edo people (eg: Ondo state) who have lost touch with their history or who agree to be tagged Yoruba for political reasons.

2) Warri is a vassal state to the Benin. In other words, Warri is part of Benin and it's people are Edo people.

It is very clear that the yorubas are fighting a war of information. They are trying to create an alternate history for political reasons.
The Oni of IFA even tried not so long ago to claim the Igbo as being yoruba from ife. The yoruba are fighting with lies and an army of liars. I think most of them know they are telling lies, that is the game plan: conquer through lies.

The Ascension to the throne of Olu is governed by laws, Tsola's Ascension goes against those laws. It is that simple. A clear case for the courts or even the state government.
Only the Olu can suspend the Ologbotsere, so people "suspending" him without any authority to do such are fools.
The continued agression from the Oni of IFA who falsely claims to be a peace maker will soon be answered. Itsikeri, Ife is trying to appropriate your throne.
