It is bearable sef, if your Junior by years in service but on the same rank is made IG over you as a DIG, even those one sef, when they achieve mandatory age or expend years of service as required will have to put in letter of retirement by themselves........


But for your junior in rank, an AIG to be made an IG over you, as a DIG........


That alone destroys morale and motivation to put in work in the service and can breed disaffection amongst officers of some particular service years........


Every officer puts in his best, believing that one day he will get to the pinnacle if not the next office to the pinnacle of the force....


Which means, in the entire service year of the DIG's, not one person was given opportunity to aspire to the IGP despite years of hardwork...........


You are talking about, DIG's retiring, even AIG's that are senior to AIG alkali will retire, because they cannot be paying complement to their juniors, robbing their own service year opportunity to aspire to higher office..........


And even if you ignore the shame of fellow officers watching you salute your junior, since you are not in the same service year as the new IG, he won't want to work with you.


He will promote his colleagues who are even junior to you, to be your senior and subsequently still retire you.

So why wait for your juniors to gloat and ridicule you, when you can retire honourably............

In Taraba state alone there are more than a hundred tribes and it is believed Christians are more in population. So pls u should know not every Usman or Abdullahi or Umar is a Hausa/Fulani, or even Muslim for that matter.

How can you get senior police officers from other Geo zones when the process of promotion of staffs in the force and appointment as AIG is purely political and favors the north most. These processes are orchestrated by a perfectly compromised system with a futuristic aim of allowing certain tribes be in power perpetually.

Afterall, we were in this country when almost 22 senior police officers were retired prematurely so that a favoured northern CP could become IGP. We are more intelligent than all this tricks.
