The Local Organising Committee, Edo2020 regrets to announce that it will end the games abruptly tomorrow, Thursday, April 8, 2021 for lack of funds. Rising from an emergency meeting this evening, the LOC says it has to take this hard decision due to lack of funds having expended its reserves to kick start the games. Regrettably, the FG is yet to redeem its pledge to support us as the host state financially for the cost of postponements. So, we are left with no option than to end the games at noon tomorrow.

if this is true, its a big shame to do state. how can the funds you are expecting from FG make you stop the sports games, this is the height of failure

I pray Nigeria's eyes will be opened soonest to give sports it's rightful place. This is what made us giant of Africa then, it's unfortunate we are toying with an uplifting endeavor.

The LOC and EDO state have totally made a mess of Nigeria local Olympic and demoralised sports men in the country,they should have moved it to Abuja instead of stubbornly hosting it and ending it after 2 weeks.btw,the sport ministry should take 99% of the blame for not allocating enough funds.
