Building medical infrastructure is only one part of the equation. Truth is, govt cannot provide world class healthcare all by itself. With declining revenues, there are many things that compete for govt funding. Doctors, lecturers, judicial officers, police and almost every govt worker wants increased pay. We want all our roads fixed, we want pipe borne water, we want rails, airports, top class armed forces and the list is endless. Guess what, all that needs money which we don't have as a country. The same populace dont want govt to borrow a dime and the same populace will not want to pay for electricity and properly priced petrol, talkless of paying their tax. Where then do we get the money to fund these luxuries. In other places, healthcare is not free. Heavy taxes on the people fund the NHS in the UK. Health insurance is behind healthcare provision in many other countries of the world. Are we willing as a people to do the needful? Granted that current govt is not doing enough as per healthcare but if it properly funds healthcare, several other sectors will suffer. 1 Like |

The advise is dead on arrival. Why? Just wait until he hears Peterside called him an economics illiterate. That was very sad and painful. Though there's a lot of truth in it but he should have been gentle |

Is Atedo Peterside the first to suggest a state of emergency in our health sector? Why do you expect PMB would single his voice out to listen to, wen this suggestion is not new? Did he even hear his own wife complaining about the looting of funds being perpetrated through the Aso Rock clinic? We just like to complain about things we can easily change through the legislature. 1 Like |

grandstar:To be fair, it's not like Buhari has ever listened to good advice even when delivered wrapped in the most outrageous flattery. The harsh truth is that the man is as convinced of the rightness of his beliefs as he is intellectually limited, and this has always been the case as far back as 1983. If the likes of Osinbajo and Kachikwu have made no impression on Buhari, nothing Peterside could possibly say would ever make a difference, so Peterside might as well take some pleasure in venting his spleen while speaking to journalists. 2 Likes |

post=100656077: Intentional Mugu, you quoted the ones that suite your Darling Daddy narratives and avoided these below; The truth is, Buhari didn’t cause all the problems in the country’s health sector but instead of working towards a solution, he’s actively contributing to making it worse. As against expectations and his assurance at a Chatham House speech before his election to the country’s top political office, Buhari has become a terrible influence on medical tourism in the country. We know ur type, your hypocrisy smells to the high heavens. 3 Likes |

There is nothing more to say or suggest to this failed government hellbent at consigning its legacy to the bin of history. We are all just waiting for their tenure to end. It has been eight wasted years of deception, falsehood and propaganda. The extent to which the country can be pulled back from this black hole post 2023 should be everyone's concern. Nothing, absolutely nothing positive will come out in the remaining time. They are set in their ways that seem right in their eyes. Hopeless truth haters. 1 Like |

omohayek: You are completely correct. His critics say he has a Messianic complex and that is his biggest failing. I wonder how someone can be talking patriotism and nationalism when soldiers are being mauled down by Boko Haram? That's why he won't bring in mercenaries. I always knew that was his reason even before he said it. Even the US used private contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan and I won't be surprised they were also used in Syria to kick out ISIS. |

when we told Nigerians in 2015 that this will be the worst government in the history of the whole africa continent , and that they will be making the greatest mistake any nation can make which will take at least minimum of 25 to 50 years to repair if they voted for buhari, we were called all sorts of names, some even called us wailers , now who is wailing ? we have all the screenshots , now many of those who insulted us then have died as a result of the precarious security situation in the nation , i am sure some of those who insulted us then died at during the end sars riots and many will still die , many businesses then that supported buhari campaign then have closed down , we that knew what will happen and we aren't surprised . unfortunately nigerians still have another 2 years of even harsher economic and dangerous security situation to endure . i pray God gives Nigerians the power to endure the pains, hunger and tears . |
