Akhi, Are you sure you're a muslim. Cos you don't need to recognize anyone as a muslim, the criterion between what's right or wrong, who is a muslim, a kafir and a munafiq is with Allah is Rosul and the true believers ... Not with Hausa Igbo Yoruba or fulani.
Go and learn your deen pls

Islam isn't fulani tradition....only Allah is the leader. Yoruba muslims have been observing ramadan before any creation of nigeria Islamic council, no sultan who bows to the kafir british queen is my leader....only Allah through the teachings of Mohammed. Islam isn't hausa/fulani tradition, Islam shouldn't been seen through the lens of hausa/fulani.

Yes the Sultan. It was fixed thus cos no adherents of other religion but a muslim can become the Sultan. First cos it's an Emirate, and the control of other emirates traditionally lied with the Sultan. All the northern emirates we're headed by his vassals. The emirate was a religious thing before it became a political power.

But coming to the SW, the Obaship stool is purely political and cultural. Any prince of whichever faith could become a king and he must be seen to be neutral to all religions. An Aare musulumi may be in order or chief Amir (religious leader). Emir is the bastardized word from Amir. The SW I don't think have centralized the control of the islam in one body.

It's imperative for the Sultan, like other muslim leaders, to echo the commencement of the Ramadan after Saudi Arabia have made the announcement.
