not sure why zik is being blamed here since i think nigeria predated him.

he was born in 1904 and so would have been 10 in 1914.

@TPIAH, Zik is to blame simply because the northerners in 1957 wanted to seceed in the pretext that they weren't prepared for independence. Awolowo urged him to allow them do so but he went and liased with them and insisted on One Nigeria just because he had the intention of becoming the prime minister or president.
