There's this show of ignorance and stupidity some people make on this forum about river ports in igbo land.
Alas they even laugh about it, not knowing that the best, safest and most used port in the world are river ports, continental shelf ports or natural harbors.

Think of London port....it's inside river Thames. Hamburg still inside. What of one of the largest ports in the world if not the largest Port of Rotterdam, it is even located in river delta of Rhine.

Even a port to the outer ocean MUST have an habour built to shield it from 'elements' of big water like an ocean.

Sometimes I just don't know the kind of stupid people in this forum.

There is no geographical law that determines how shallow a river is or can be

Are you trying to establish a new principle of geography today

Lagos Lagoon is a COASTAL LAGOON and IS ON THE SEA

It contains SEA WATER from the Atlantic ocean

Swallow the bitter truth

And the imo river contains river from the indian ocean ? Lmao

If u ever attended geography class u would know the difference between river , sea , lagoon and ocean

If ikpeazu pulls this one, he will automatically be considered as the best governor to have come out of Eastern Nigeria and igbo land.
As per viability, it would end up as one of the most viable projects ever in the country and in the east creating thousands of jobs and turning around the Eastern economy and reversing migration induced by lopsided federalism

Great development!!
This would be a game changer and would be far more viable than an airport.

These guys are geography skills are lacking. How they don't know the difference between the Sea and river is funny. How is it a Seaport if you're 23 km from the ocean?

Your ignorance is very disturbing. Where do you think P.h port is situated? How many miles is it to the ocean?

23km is a very short distance to the ocean and even if it requires dredging, the cost won't be too much or unaffordable.

I would argue port Harcourt is river port as well hence why there's need for a better port in eastern half of the nation.

It’s borne out of unbridled hate and a desire to see that Igbos NEVER have the economic enablers to prosper and leave their embittered arse behind! Somehow, they’ve managed to convince themselves that they’re better than Igbos and their region is more prosperous and equipped for a sustainable economy than Alaigbo!

Now you know why we’re yet to get a river/sea port or thriving int’l airport in our region since the end of the uncivil war!

Lol does that it being 23 nautical miles turn it into a seaport clown? You're right thats my mistake saying km instead of miles. It's over 40 km from the Atlantic.

Another daft comment!

How many ports in Nigeria where actually built on the coastal fringe?

P.H, Warri, Ibaka, Calabar and even Lagos etc were all built on a river that emptied on the ocean, and they were dredged for up to 40, 50 or 60 km, which is longer than this proposed port! Has it made any of the ports less operational?

Read below and cure your ignorance!

Are you this dense or what? Something is seriously wrong with you. Are you even aware that Lagos seaports was dredged for a whopping 50 nautical miles to ocean before ships could berth! If Lagos could be dredged for that long then why not this proposed port that is far shorter in distance (about 25 nautical miles) to the ocean?

Has your Igbophobic tendencies made you unreasonable and illogical?

SMH.

Does lagos seaport sit on river or the ocean. Why I said it's an inland port is because of it's location on the river and distance from the ocean not because of the need for dredging. You clowns are like Muslims calling any criticism Islamophobia. Saying the project resembles any other inland port is called igbophobia to you weirdos. This is no different from port of Philadelphia or the other river ports with Nigeria itself.

You really need help, no jokes. So, this proposed Azumini port that is only 25 nautical miles to the ocean is an inland port according to you but Lagos, P.H, Warri etc that are further inland and needed to be dredged for up to 40, 50 or 60 nautical miles before connecting to the ocean are not inland ports.

Can't you see how daft you are?!

By your logic all the river ports in Nigeria are also seaports. Edo has a Seaport in Gelegela because it's not that far from the ocean despite being inland and not bordering the ocean. You clowns really don't care to distinguish between rivers and seas. Lol only in Nigeria will you be 100 miles inland then say we're seaport. I'm eagerly awaiting the venue seaport.

Lagos seaport has no connection with a river . Rivers are fresh water streams that EMPTY into the ocean

Lagos port is in an estuary or coastal lagoon of the Atlantic that flows directly into the bay

All the water is SEA water i,e salt water

Many Nigerians do not know that Rivers State and Akwai Ibom have no land border. What seperates them is the Azumini blue River that runs from tip of Abia state to the ocean

Its also funny that people have forgotten about the Suez canal incident so soon
