Gov Obiano of Anambra at Awka, in his annual “Grant in Aid to Mission Hospitals” handed over a total sum of N288,500,000.00 to Mission Hospitals in Anambra.

* N60,750,000.00 to 26 recognized Anglican Mission Hospitals;

* N30,000,000.00 to One recognized Pentecostal Fellowship Hospital;

* N197,750,000.00 to 42 recognized Catholic Mission Hospitals.

This is one of the reasons Anambra State is leading in health care service delivery in Nigeria.

The governor Willie Obiano is doing so well with legacy projects positioned across the length and breadth of the state including the world class International Cargo and Passenger Airport in Umueri that will be named in honour of the governor.


I think Anambra is the only state in the east that carries Catholics and Anglicans along in politics ie if the governor is Catholic for instance, his deputy will come from the Anglican faith and vice versa. In Enugu state presently, both the governor and his deputy are Catholics.

Prof Chukwuma Soludo will build on Governor Obiano's collaboration with the church and expand public access to health institutions in the state. Prof Soludo's vision for Anambra state is already getting the people excited. It will be a new dawn.
