There is a fish called Kampala that some Nigerian vendors sell off as Titus(such a scam).

See the attached picture. Some vendors try to sell Kampala as Titus because they look similar.. unsuspecting customers must be watchful not
to fall for this scam.
One way to know the difference between Titus and Kampala is:

1) The Head: Titus has a small head, smaller eyeballs, with a long pointed snout compared to Kampala, which has a bigger head.

I was shocked wen I actually fell for it. They taste quite different but one notable difference is d fact dat the imposter Titus doesn't come in big sizes

The original is oily (both on the body and after cooking) while the other specie isn't.

The marks on the original are more visible than the other specie

Its colour is closer to silver while the other has the colour of note

It tastes better while the other has about the same taste as hache fish.

The easiest way, however, to tell the difference is by pressing the fish to see how oily it is.
