Many aspirants across Nigeria have been trying to find out if the University of Calabar has a faculty of engineering and offers engineering courses.

The University of Calabar has a faculty of Engineering started in 2017 with 7 departments under it, This departments are not yet accredited by the National universities commission but have gained approval to run the course and would be accredited in less than one year from the time of writing this. The faculty of Engineering already have students in 100 and 200 level, later in this post I would guide you on how to gain admission into the Unical faculty of Engineering as it is not yet on jamb portal.

The University of Calabar Faculty of Engineering has 7 departments;
1. Civil and Environmental Engineering
2. Computer Engineering
3. Petroleum Engineering
4. Electrical and electronics Engineering
5. Mechanical Engineering
6. Agric and Bio resource Engineering
7. Chemical Engineering

HOW TO GAIN ADMISSION INTO UNICAL FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

The University of Calabar faculty of Engineering is not yet fully accredited therefore it's departments doesn't reflect on jamb portal during jamb registration, the students that are been admitted for now are from pre degree programs in the school and transfer from other departments, below are the following ways you can gain admission into the Unical faculty of Engineering.

If you are already admitted in any department in the university of calabar you can easily work your transfer and start from 200 level, note you must be coming from a department that has similar year one courses with engineering like physics, computer science etc.

If you want to come in through jamb first apply for Electronics and Computer technology (ECT) once you gain admission you head straight to the faculty of Engineering, submit your admission letter and other documents and then switch.

If you are coming through the pre degree programme you need to fill in Engineering when applying for admission then you need to meet the point for Engineering before you would be admitted
