Fezz: What is it with you and fairytales ? Are we all in the 21st century ? Some of you are stuck in the olden days when Africans were gullible. Look, there is no historical connection between Benin empire and Ife village. Also oduduwa was created by awolowo ! Even the statue of oduduwa is actually a statue of awolowo ! Please start using your brains ! How come awolowo manages to dupe you guys right from the grave ? Who gets duped by a dead man ? And please stop creating your own story in your head, history is an investigative work based on eyewitness written documents, it is not s science fiction which you conjure in your head. The son of Oba Ovonramwen, Oba Eweka2 was already trying to leave the western region, his son Oba Akenzua 2 was to achieve it. We never saw the "yorubas" as our brothers and they never saw us as their brothers. Awolowo tried to create an artificial "yoruba" tribe through fairytales for his political ambitions, the Oba of Benin didn't want any part of it. |

Truthshots2:Awolowo was born in 1909. “Oduduwa” is littered in Samuel Johnson’s work which was completed in 1897. As well as as in previous other works. Now we know who lacks the ability to use their brain. However, it is both you and @Fezz who are misguided — but from different angles. 3 Likes |

One can even notice the similarities between the names oduduwa and awolowo. How that man awolowo manages to dupe people after his demise is beyond me: oduduwa:= awolowo |

ogbonti:Be calming down the. Did you see the word “first” at all?? That tells you that there was no Buhari, Supreme Court, or Federal Gazette or even the name “Warri” at the time of the first Olu. By the way, I’m aware that the present day olus have authority over all of Warri. 3 Likes |

TAO11: Did you just say "track down"?.. Lol. The funny part is, you don't have to login or register on facebook before you view the content, so I don't know where "tracking down" is coming from. No need to get all paranoid, it's just a public Facebook link, you are just being ignorant and unecessarIy scared. Easy with the names, your tribe is no better because as far as I can remember, there are cultists, rapists and ritualists littered everywhere in yorubaland and other parts of Nigeria. Be wise with your words and stop being unecessarily mischievous because you are beginning to sound like a child each day that passes by. ENJOY!! |

Fezz: "yoruba" of today is not a tribe. The only true yoruba are the people of oyo Kingdom. "yoruba" of today is a mix up of many groups of people whom have no link with eachother: 1) the real yoruba (oyo people) 2) slave descendants (more than majority of the yorubas of today) 3) some dahomians 4) the jebu 5) some brainwashed Edo 6) ... Notice one thing: the jebu used to consider the yoruba as inferior human beings and occasionally threatened to attack one yoruba settlement or the other. The same jebu paid tribute to the Oba of Benin. |

Truthshots2: I agree with you. The difference between the Benins and the yoruba is this, the Benins come from one stock and are all connected by blood while the yorubas are connected via a centralised language derived from oyo but they are actually a mix of different people brought together for political purpose. 2 Likes |

KingOKON: Oduduwa came from the sky, Africa is the place humans were formed, the other accounts of creation is nonsense, you evolved from animals? I doubt that. Oduduwa was an Alien who came to earth to create humans and Africa ILE IFE precisely was the point of creation, any other account is counterproductive and fake. |

Jagunlabiodua: Oga go sitdown, Bini talked about everything to the europeans they were ethnographers who constantly visited the oba palace on regular bases Am grounded on benin history am even doubting if youre grounded on yoruba history See there is nothing you can tell me on Benin history... The benin mentioned their origin and migration to the europeans, which they pointed toward the middle belt They mentioned eweka, ogiso and ormoiyan wasnt mentioned, how would they mention eweka 1st and skip ormoiyan if truly it wasnt a false history made up recently If you insist benin and ife had a connection you claim back it with historical acheological evidence connecting both places this achaeological evidence should date from 1100 to date.... If you cant go and take sniper and fuckoff.... |

For a Bini man to give up falsehood, he must not only be disgraced; he must be terribly disgraced publicly and repeatedly without an atom of mercy. Also: “What can be asserted without evidence can also be debunked without evidence.” ~ Hitchens’s Razor. This quotation applies to your heap of jibber-jabber in your comment here. Truthshots2: Truthshots2: In other words, both your claims and your video are false and have been debunked by myself time and time again using classical writings: (1) There is no evidence for your falsehood that only Oyo people are Yorubas. A popular but false claim without any evidence whatsoever. (2) Your video claims that the name “Yoruba” was first birthed as a group name in the 1800s. This claim is actually debunked by the classical writings (of Ahmad Baba) from the early 1600s. (3) The Evidence: The embedded manuscript below (of Ahmad Baba) lists the name “Yoruba” (in the year 1615) among the names of some other West African ethnic groups. www.nairaland.com/attachments/12934148_5117c6d550154217817d7c66b5fa0fe6_jpeg_jpeg2a73d5172c14cf7a7da91ff200688e3e Below is an expert translation of the relevant section of this manuscript. This translation was prepared by John Hunwick and Fatima Harrak for The Institute of African Studies Rabat, Morocco www.nairaland.com/attachments/12934147_3336ed29985b499e82c4e140b455b9fa_jpeg_jpeg62ecafabb59c692d4ba471597fdf16bb (4) We know this manuscript was written by Ahmad Baba in the year 1615 because Baba penned his date as highlighted (in the attached verso) below: www.nairaland.com/attachments/13082305_6e49d8d129844a578af9272699e1586a_jpeg_jpeg2d5891d724a6428e2c0f4e6898bd60cc The highlight here literally shows the wording “(the year) one thousand and twenty four (of the Hijrah)”. When converted from this Hijri “AH” calendar into our Gregorian “AD” calendar; the year 1024 AH falls into the year 1615 AD The formula “D = 0.9692*H + 622” proves practically useful for this conversion. (5) In sum, your falsehood turns out to be a pain borne out of your frustration of being a minority. Yes, the minority complex syndrome is a real thing. But you have a lifetime to deal with that. Cheers! Cc: Fezz, theTranslator 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Fezz:The minority complex syndrome which led to their inferiority complex is still strongly at work. I pray you all outgrow this inferiority complex someday. And if you don’t, some of your unborn generations certainly will. Having said that: “Whatever can be asserted without evidence can likewise be debunked without evidence.” ~ Hitchens’s Razor. This quotation is for the heap of falsehood you have dumbed above. 1 Like |
