BREAKING: Linking Of SIM Card With NIN To Be Cancelled Soon by Gjrich(m): 11:47am On Apr 17, 2021
It was earlier announced by the Federal Government of Nigeria that linking of SIM cards with NIN (National Identification Number) is important and compulsory for all citizens in Nigeria.

Two sources have reached out to our media outlet to reveal that the linking of SIM cards with NIN is about to be cancelled. The cancellation is coming after the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, got called out for having a link with Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda.

The first source says that in order to make Nigerians happy and forget about the issue of Isa Pantami link with the terrorist groups, he wants to cancel the linking of SIMs with NINs. The source says that NIN might only be compulsory for those who will start buying new SIM as from Monday.

"Isa Pantami is about to make the linking of SIM cards with NIN not to be compulsory again due to the attacks he's been receiving on social media. The same way registration of SIM cards were announced surprisingly, that's how linking of SIM cards will be cancelled surprisingly but will be done (cancellation) in a cunny way," the first source says.

The second source says the telecommunications in Nigeria are currently feeling the heat of losing many customers when SIMs are eventually blocked (those who didn't link theirs). The second source says,

"The telecommunications in Nigeria are gradually feeling the heat of losing numerous customers from these linking of SIM cards with NINs. The panic amongst the telecoms is too much."

Journalism is a joke in Nigeria.

Is this a report or a gossip?

Making it compulsory for new sim registration is still same thing.

By the time you lose your phone, you have no option than to still go and register for NIN.

So tell me,what is the cancellation here?

Who does that, allowing a terrorist to have exclusive rights to spy on you? who does that. Till this moment the United States won’t try to link Social Security to sim card because they respect and value privacy as a right.

That terrorist guy needs to go! He have has access to too much already.

We will just divide this country period

We are our own problem in this country, that's why we get the clowns we have as leaders.

Instead of discussing the substance of the matter we playing to the gallery.

Why should a critical endeavour like the NIN be thrown out because of the shortcomings of one man. "ordinary" Ghana here (pardon my French Ghanaians) takes biometric data of aliens at ports of entry. In China you can't use your sim if it's not linked to some kind of id (like international passport). Here some paid urchin are wiping up sentiments on social media about the person of the minister (which I have no problem if it is genuine background check) just to destroy the SIM REGISTRATION EXERCISE.

Silent majority of Nigerians if we continue in this pacifist attitude of ours and let good policies or noble intentions destroyed by rogue minorities with exaggerated online footprint, then we will be tossed around like balls in a field
