I like the fact that the PDP Govs response was enumerated by paragraphs as is the practice in public service. The PGF just bundled the write-up should incompetence even in common things.

What most Appex banks do accross the world is the give out fiat money

Crude Oil couldn't sell well due to covid 19 lockdown, FAAC is low, States has to pay salary and contractors.. with payment, traders and business owners won't get customers and cash won't flow

Emefiele gave a bail out with fiat money, crediting State Government Account with Money without necessarily printing real money

That's it's job as it is with it's peers all over the world. CREATION of money by Central Bank, Federal Reserve or National Bank is a global practice which many developed and developing countries have adopted at critical times.

Gov. Godwin Obaseki was just being MISCHIEVOUS BUSYBODY in saying what he said. He was given the printed money, he collected. If he is so patriotic, why didn't he reject the money? By the way, it is not the sole responsibility of FG to improve the economy. What are the 36 governors doing to improve economy? What has Obaseki done to improve Edo State economy since becoming governor?

Gov. Obaseki frittered billions of Naira he should have used to improve Edo State economy to improve the pockets of few members of PDP hierarchy to buy PDP ticket. He should just focus on using his FAAC allocation judiciously for Edo people and allow CBN do its work.
he is even owing the state University workers over 5 months salary. They have been on strike for close to two months now.

Tell everyone you know why they should not vote any drug baron, any ex-governor that left his state worse than he met it, any politician that has ever been named in an international corruption charge of a company. A lot of sai baba won’t see anything wrong with what the CBN did because APC can never do anything wrong. What CBN did is plain fraud. The money they printed has to match the resources and amount of revenue the nation generates, but ours doesn’t.

The UK and other country sell their bonds before injecting cash into the economy for those zomb.ies saying the UK also do the same

Both parties have learnt.

PDP admitted that in general what FG did through the CBN was useful in paying salaries, backlog of monies owed to states that carried out federal projects and the refund of paris club deductions.

Why Gov Obaseki should then say the things he said in the way he said them beats my imagination. Rather than help, it has created more problems. As a member of NEC, he could have offered his advice directly at those meetings or talk to the CBN Governor in private as fellow bankers.

Both parties should move ahead in the interest of the masses.

Ogaoo...we know you know what you're saying but remember when there's no commensurate increase in Economic activity printing money can be very bad to the economy. Remember the inflation level is hitherto on 18.2% and printing money when there's even a dwindling economic activity will only result in increasing the inflation level.
Obaseki was not talking of Quantitative easing, he was talking of Money printing. Don't be over partisan

Actually most Apex banks do NOT GIVE OUT fiat money
What do you mean by "give out"?
"PRINTING" is a red herring and an irrelevant distraction. It makes no difference whether fiat money is issued by printing BANKNOTES or issued digitally
Very soon banknotes will be a thing of the past

Fixating on whether banknotes were printed is dishonest
The total money in circulation is more than 8 times the "printed" banknotes
By the way if the CBN issues a single cheque for 1 billion Naira

That CHEQUE is MONEY and technically THAT is PRINTING money.

A bank note is merely an obligation or liability of the CBN and so "printed" money can take any form
To talk of "printing real money" reflects a misunderstanding of what money , CBN issued money is
Which money is not real?

Printed money may be for public or institutional use. i.e not all printed money is legal tender
Treasury bills e.g. ARE MONEY but not legal tender

As such for purposes such as Obaseki was describing Printing could take the form of large denomination CBN cheques that are FIAT MONEY

What is the basis for that?

Now government can borrow from the Central Bank. If government cannot afford to pay the CBN interest rates and is getting money at zero cost then government is insolvent and that is a very serious position indeed

The money given to them was their entitlement as stipulated by the constitution, FG is not doing them any favour. You can liken it to someone that stoles money to pay his debt.
