EKONGKING: Lagos is the FIRST (and likely ONLY) sub-national govt to do so IN ALL OF AFRICA... All the other metro rail systems in Africa are built and funded by NATIONAL governments. Except for South Africa’s Guatrain, which is a BOT PPP project built/funded by the operator. PS: Btw, it’s not “unnecessary boasting” when he was merely answering questions on a TV program. > 1 Like |

zeusdgrt:Don't be a sadist. If Ambode had completed and commissioned some of Fashola's projects (especially the Lagos-badagry express road), Lagos would have been more habitable than it is. Learn to give credit to whom deserve it! 3 Likes 1 Share |

[[s]quote author=helinues post=100917800]Wow... Nice one No wonder Lagos is the Obodo Oyinbo land of some people that they can't resist the urge of relocating as nothing is happening in their deserted state/region. Eko o ni baje laye laye[/quote][/s] Thesame people you're castigating own choice property in Lagos and live far better life than you an Ogbomosho import that is lost in Lagos. |

tunwumi: Indeed! I tell people, the easiest place to govern is a State. Usually the state assembly is in your pocket and because a state is a bit small, its easier to ensure things are done well across the state. Governing Nigeria on the other hand is a different kettle of fish. It's a lot more complicated, with more forces jostling for resources and relevance. And it's very difficult for the center to manage the affairs going on in 36 very distinct states. I've always said that we need 36 good governors more than 1 good president. |

Lagos is the only functional government in Nigeria, but they still have a lot of work to do in urban planning. |
