uuzba: The question you should be asking is what has Nigeria been doing over the 60 years of independence, OBJ opened NNPC in 1977, Buhari was its first GMD/Chairman, 44 years later, Buhari is the Federal Minister of Petroleum resources, yet NNPC can't explore, extract or refine oil and gas and has to depend on IOC's that have been milking the country dry since 1957. Is the problem with IOC or the incompetence Nigerian ruling class? The Saudi ARAMCO is now valued at $2 trillion, while NNPC has always operated at a loss, Nigeria is in no position to ignore the threat of the IOCs especially if they lack the competence to manage the resources themselves 1 Like |

THATS WHY THEY HAVE ALLOWED US TO BUILD A FUNCTIONAL REFINERY AFTER 60 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE BECAUSE OIL IS BEING PHASED OUT IN EUROPE AS SUCH THEY CAN NOW ALLOW USE TO USE OUR OIL SINCE THEY NO LONGER HAVE USE FOR IT. THE REAL PROBLEM WE HAVE IS OUR LEADERS THEY SOLD US OUT COMPLETLY AND THIS IS THE END RESULT COLONIALISM NEVER ENDED THATS THE SAD TRUTH WE SEE THIS THOUGH THE DEPENDENCE OF THE WEST FOR GRANTS AND AID, EXPLOITATION OF OUR RESOURSESM AND HIDERING US FROM DEVELOPING THEM, BRAIN DRAIN (IMMIGRATION) WHICH IS A MORE REFINED WAY OF SLAVE TRADE LACK OF ELECTRICITY TO PREVENT US FROM OPENING FACTORIES AND BECOMING SELF INDEPENDENT AND EXPORTERS LOOK AT IT THIS WAY AFRICA HAS A MORE YOUTHFUL POPULATION ALSO COST OF MANUFACTURING WOULD BE WAY CHEAPER HERE THAN EVEN CHINA HENCE MAKING AFRICAN OR NIGERIA THE CHOICE DESTINATION FOR ALOT OF MANUFACTURERS. |

I see this development as a good one for the country in the long run. Few Nigerians actually benefit from the activities of the oil majors. This will probably hasten the move to restructure the country into a normal country or break up the country peacefully. |

fc450: Some of you dont think critically, before you 'talk'. Is it only that man that was described, that will be/is affected by Buhari's colossal mal-administration? Dont you realize that as that man who you said "It is the beginning for him and those that voted Buhari", as his suffering increases, so does the suffering of you and every other Nigerian increases? Whatever made the Man to lose his wealth under this useless Buhari, is what is making majority of others to also lose their wealth. Buhari is a disaster of unimaginable proportions, the type that one will pray: NEVER AGAIN! But getting rid of the Mutherfcker (not even waiting till 2023 because we are not even sure whether the country or anyone will still be around in 2023) should be priority. Even the Sai-Baba people like me is interested in geting rid of the Virus in Aso Rock. 1 Like |

This is super story. Corruption, local content and security is the sole reason. Local content is the sole reason cus it drives the other two. We are chasing those multinationals away so we can have the freedom to carry out corrupt practices. I worked for a big Norwegian firm here in Nigeria, and they were chased away cus they don't give nor take bribe. Infact they were asked to partner with a local company that will take care of that aspect but my company refused. I work for another UK oil company now and we are going through the same issues On security, nigerians that's are players in oil and gas sector are the brains behind the security crises confronting the sector, reason just to chase the experts away. Now we have the worst set's of oil workers in Nigeria. No training, poor maintenance, no salaries at the end of the month, poor safety standards. No jobs too. The industry is collapsing |

onuman:Exactly my point, while these companies are leaving the country for another' one "deluded mind" said it's because of " no more free money" no more business as usual, and I'm wondering the kind of thinking faculty this person has. the country is going down the drain but these EDEOTS are playing politics with the reality. Some people can be very STUPID 2 Likes |
