BREAKING: FG Scraps Salary For Medical House Officers And Other Health Interns by dokgen(m): 6:44am On Apr 24, 2021 |
FG is like Kitana in Mortal Kombat, heartlessly slashing peoples salary. please FRONT PAGE, MODS. In a shock move that has left the medical community in Nigeria dazed, there is a report that the federal government o f Nigeria through the National Council of National Establishment ( NCE) has stopped the salaries of medical house officers, dental officers, nurse interns , pharmacist interns , medical laboratory science interns and NYSC doctors. This means, the salaries of all health interns in Nigeria health institutions including that of house job have been removed from the payroll of the federal civil service. In case you still don’t understand this piece of information, the federal government is saying house-manship ( a paid mandatory one year service for fresh medical graduates ) is now part of the continued training for doctors and other interns and therefore, they are no longer under any obligation to pay them salaries. Before now, a house officer is on consolidated medical salary scale (CONMESS) . With this decision, the federal government have removed house officers from the salary scale saying they will no longer pay HOs. This information is contained in document dated 12th of April 2021 and released by the National council of Establishment ( NCE is the highest decision making body in the civil service and duly signed by the head of civil service Dr, Folashade Yemi-Esan. Who surprisingly and disappointingly a dental doctor without conscience to protect the interest of freshly graduated , hardworking doctors. She supposedly graduated as the best graduating student in University of Ibadan in 1987. Now, the government is assaying house-manship and other health internships is a form of “ studentship” and not supposed to be a paid job. Now that the FG has banned house officers from earning salaries, what does the future hold for young medical graduates and also interns of other health professionals.? © Nimedhealth.

dokgen:well then. It seems that going to medical school is no longer worth the risk.. Everybody will now want to be an engineer. Hopefully this means they will no longer be used as houseboys and girls in teaching hospitals. They will no longer do calls especially those 96hr straight calls. This is all shades of bleeped up. Dear prospsective jambites. Medicine is no longer worth its high cutoff mark. Go and do engineering and IT. Housemanship is not studentship. How dumb are these elites? 3 Likes |

DrFunmisticGlow:They are a bunch of ignoramus apparently, doc. Its really sad. If it's based on the fact that peopel in housemanship are still learning, then Residents should not be paid also. Aswear, the Nigerian government does not deserve its doctors. ALL DOCTORS are suppose to leave the country enmasse. 4 Likes |

This is just wickedness. No wonder doctors in Nigeria are always planning an exodus out of the country due to the harshness of the Nigerian leaders. |

That image up there is not befitting for this news. How can OP trivialise such weighty news with a comical pic Make I hide dey observe the Mods whether them go modify before doing the needful. Back to the topic. All those medical students in the university behaving like they are classified students just because they are in the medical school can now chill a bit. Those guys could be very annoying sometimes. But that no mean say FG no clueless

Too many liars on here. A typical SHO in the U.K. makes about £3000+ a month and this is after taxes, National insurance, and pension contributions have been taken out. Then if they wish to work locum in A&E, they’d earn about £50/hour which for a normal 8hr shift is £400 or £280 after taxes. This is just one free day in a month. I don’t want to push for all doctors to leave, but Tech is now the best profession in Nigeria |
