There have been several cases of members of Nigerian police and Nigerian army harassing citizens because they are being snapped or recorded by citizens. They go to the extent of destroying the recording device or forcing the citizen to delete the media file from their device.

I will like to know if recording police or military personnel is a crime or against the law in Nigeria.

infact it is highly advisable to do that but the personal will always intimidate you for doing so.

That is an evidence to implicate them, but when their life or carrier is at stake, what do you expect them to do.
It happens in all places not just only Nigeria alone also in civilized world.
That's why when you see some actual scene, you observe the camera shaking for amateur camera man or distance view from either a journalist or press.
It all depends on what actually happened at that particular event. illegal without their consent, when no crime or extorting is been done.
