Once upon a time in the Bible story, there was a power tussle between two individuals named Mordecai and Hanan. Ordinarily Hanan has higher power in ranking and he ought to easily defeat Mordecai. But for the God of Mordecai and his daughter Esther the battle line became tough for Hanan. Hanan had ten sons who had likely being well educated and has high social standing in the society. They would likely belong different sectors of the economy of the nation then. Possible they are men to be reckoned with in terms of social and financial status. They might also have been influencial in making their father the highest political appointee in that time because of different solid counsels backup they will be offering to their father.
Modecai on the other hand had a daughter who must have been brought up in a very godly and sounds spiritual environment. With favour of God, coupled with her diligence and high intelligence she was able to become Queen in the land. However upon her assuming the position she and father didn’t allow pride to enter them like Vashti her predecessor in the position. Esther remain humble, spiritual and prayerful. When the battle became intense ccand the lives of all Jews in that generation is at risk of genocide. She solicited for fasting and prayer from her brethren in conjunction with her own as she takes the matter before the earthly king in charge then having settled it first with heavenly King of kings.
At the end of the day, Mordecai and her daughter- Esther won the power play over Hanan and his influential ten sons with the help of God.
Mordecai took over the second in command position in the domain replacing the Haman and Esther not only retain her position as Queen she personally ensure that the Ten sons of Haman the ringleaders enemies of Jews then went down totally.
The key lesson of the story is that Christian parents should ensure they raised their children to be godly and spiritually strong, making them to know how to use spiritual weapons like faith, prayers and fasting, speaking in tongues and so on. They should not just focus on academic and financial development of the wards, while this is good but spiritual values should be given good priorities.
