Dumb NLC.

Having refineries in the country does not guarantee cheap fuel price.

Reduced prices but not cheap fuel. Norway with its crude-oil reserves and refineries sells fuel for close to a thousand Naira per litre.

Fuel prices are determined by the prices of crude oil in the international market, the costs of refining and the costs of importation and storage.

Having refineries in the country will only save the costs of importation.

It's high time the Nigerians know that fuel subsidy favours the rich more. Those who buy fuel for their fleet of cars and generators. Removing subsidy will affect definitely affect the average Nigerian in the short-term but the long-term benefits can never be overemphasized as more money will be available for infrastructural developments and social welfare.

Na dem dem. How many times dem don remove am. Which infrastructure, come see Benin, Warri road now.

These ones are part of our problem. What refinery are there to be repaired? Instead of suggesting that the refineries are sold off and new ones built, they're busy encouraging the spending of scarce fund to repair... can they call for strike and the people abide by it? No one trust them.

That the way to go,the Labour must insist that our refineries are up and doing before we can expect changes from the current price of pms ,I don't know why our leaders are this lazy and incompetent over the years ,how can we play with something as important as our refineries when we have crude oil deposits ....and we voted for the worst of them in 2015 ,God will punish every one that stole and is still stealing from the public till from 1960 to date both those that are dead and those that are still alive ,I can't believe that a nation could be this backward irrespective of our great potentials

will there be need to hike price after fixing all the refineries ?

Just say no subsidy removal ever. Buying petrol locally will just save little, I doubt it will be more than 30naira per litre which is the transport cost.

Buhari has severally refused to wield the big stick by deregulat8ng the petrol price. Now NLC is flexing muscle

Political Labour leaders.

Political labour statement.

Where were you guys when VAT and other taxes, cost of accessing essential government services and even this same fuel prices were increased to their current cost?
Its now every politician is looting Nigeria dry for 2022 elections that you want them to fix refinery for you.

What cannot be done in 6 years can not be done one year into an election.

Nigeria's labour union and misplaced priorities are 5 and 6!

They are not policymakers, they should stick to their primary objective which is the welfare of their members.

They have drawn Nigeria backwards with their support for populist policies they barely understand.

@Bolded, my bro, what is the minimum wage of citizens of Norway and Nigeria? And what is the level of availability and implementation of social securities in Norway compared to Nigeria?.

My bro, Norway is heaven for its citizens while Nigeria is hell to its citizens.

On the other hand, you can't even increase the price of PMS when there are functional refineries. There won't be landing costs and other factors that calls for increased price of fuel.
Everything na sense o.
