Buhari in his presidential campaign days told the whole world that subsidy was a big SCAM. Today, Buhari is president and Minister for petroleum Resources and is telling the whole world again that without subsidy, petroleum products will sell at skyrocketing price. The world and indeed Nigerians should trust Buhari at their own risk. All this removal of subsidy plan is to usher in high selling rate for Dangote refinery petrol. Note that Dangote is the business front for the northern oligarchs. |

Seniorwriter:Bros calm down and read please. Nigeria currently spends billions, more than half of its revenue, importing petrol. Dangotes refinery when completed has the capacity to supply all our petrol needs. So we won't be importing petrol again. Since there won't be any need to import petrol again, all the billions we were spending on importing before will now be used to do other things. The Nigerian government has agreed to sell crude oil to Dangotes refinery in Naira so that the refinery will transmit the cost of petrol to Nigerians in Naira at market cost. No more landing cost, forex cost etc. Then Dangote refinery also has the capacity to supply the rest of west africa with petrol since other west african countries also import oil. When these coutries pay for thr oil in dollars, the money comes to Nigeria in dollars. Even though it is a private company, they are still earning dollar revenues and that money will be domiciled in Nigeria. PS Its tragic that you can't have a simple conversation with a Nigerian without insults and name calling. Very tragic. Even when they are wrong and clueless about what they're saying they still insult you. Shame! 3 Likes |

Nigeria has been scamming her citizens since 1960. Subsidy is a conduit pipe. Cabals have been using it since oil was discovered in Oloibiri. |

PataAlhajaKeji: Talking as if the money will be used judiciously rubbish. Until we've a strong judicia system to prosecute corrupt politicians or possibly the NASS pass death sentence on politicians that steals the subsidy should remain . the only thing the masses gain from the government.is subsidy This Governors , ministers , senators Rep members are taken care by the government that's why they don't feel anything. Let their salaries be regulated like the common civil servants then we can talk about subsidy because all of us will be making the sacrifice. No to one sided Sarcifice . |

duni04: Clueless is a way of praise to you. SMH @your hypocrisy! A monopoly is never to an economic gain anywhere in the world. Selling crude in Naira is a fraud act on it's own...people like you are still gullible to the Nigerian Politiians Cunning acts. This is my last response to you so even if you quote me a million times I won't reply your ignorant irrationally opinion. @Seniorwriter |

Seniorwriter:Goodluck! Plus I'm very sure and going by your logic, it's dangote's fault there is no other working refinery in Nigeria. Again, goodluck! PS Can you kindly explain the fraud in selling crude in naira? The crude oil is here in Nigeria. Doesn't it make sense to sell Nigerian crude to a Nigerian company that'll sell to Nigerians so that the end users (nigerians) are insulated from forex fluctuations? You seem to know everything so I'll just let you be. |

Fleecing which country? They are simply backing it because its reducing their allocation... Reducing their ability to steal. Stupid lots should know that fuel subsidy is the only thing ordinary Nigerians benefit from our good for nothing leaders. You want us to show understanding when it affects you but won't show understanding when it affects us. Ode people 2 Likes |

Instead of this useless government to find a way out they want to use shortcut and punish people. Clueless government. Does it take angel to come down from heaven just to fix refineries and build new ones? It is only selfish politicians that we have in this useless place called a country. I pray the south just breaks away and carry our destiny in our hands. It is when we breakout we will know what to do with the thieves among us because we will not harbour them. God bless the south of Niger area. |

Most of the governors are selfish and lazy all their agitation for the removal of subsidy is just because of money they will looted not because of their citizen interest. anyway this administration is just digging their graves day by day because people are tired of their incompetence and with the removal of petrol subsidy their days are numbered on throne |

I think the governors are just as heartless as buhari. It's time to start stoning them anywhere you find them. Wicked people in power. This is not Apc/pdp matter because all the governors are satanic. The hardship is already too much any further attempt to add to it may trigger the eventual break up of Nigeria. |
