Kaduna LG Election: Widows take Ekene's non inclusion case to El-Rufai

Widows from Chikun local government area of the state Tuesday stormed Government House to make their grievances known to the governor over what they perceive plots by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to exclude their preferred candidate Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams from the party's primaries scheduled for Saturday.

The widows are angry that for somebody like Hon. Adams to be excluded from taking part in the primaries is a grand plot to deprive people of Chikun local government a person of their choice.

Speaking to media men at the party's secretarial, leader of the women, Lami Karatudu, said they are asking the governor to interfere in the issue in the interest of people of the local government.

"Ekene is our choice; he has empowered widows and orphans in our community. He has shown that he has the heart to help and that is why we want him as chairman of Chikun local government."

The women from about four wards of the local government called on Governor El-Rufai to act fast in the interest of the people of the local government.

The protest took the women to the party's secretarial, state house of assembly and the government.
