HON. IFEANYI IBEZI COMES TO THE AID OF THE PHYSICALLY ABUSED OGIDI WOMAN Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyichukwu Ibezi, the former lawmaker, who once represented Idemili North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has come to the aid of Mrs. Christiana Albert Okoye of Uru-Ogidi, in Idemili North Local Government Area, who was recently physically assaulted. Mrs Okoye suffered severe bodily harm occasioned by the beating she received from one Master Mmaduegbuna Kosisochukwu of Uru-Ogidi, who is said to be her relation. The cause of the fight was trading of accusations between Mrs Okoye and Kosisochukwu Maduegbuna. Owing to the life-threatening injuries she got from the beating inflicted on her by the teenager, Mrs Okoye was subsequently hospitalized. The story of her plight reached Hon. Ibezi, who visited her at the hospital to ascertain her condition. After sympathizing with Mrs Okoye, Ibezi promised to foot the bills of the her treatment. He also promised to ensure that her assailant, Master Maduegbuna was brought to book and the cause of justice served. He described violence against women as heinous crime which should be frowned at by well meaning members of the society.
